Guidewire is widely recognized as the leading provider of software solutions for the property and casualty insurance industry. Our software offers property and casualty insurance companies the tools to take care of their customers when they need it the most, whether that’s a time of crisis, a natural disaster, an accident, or exposure to cyber risks.

We are looking for an accomplished leader to join Guidewire’s Product organization, and lead a cross-functional team to drive the continued success of our flagship Claims product. You will be responsible for understanding all aspects of the Claims business, including go-to-market, alliances, product strategy, product development,  and delivery.

This includes ensuring the continued success of our customers, as well as identifying new opportunities that leverage Guidewire’s cloud platform and AI technologies to help our Claims customers achieve their business goals and transform claims handling in P&C insurance. In this role you will lead a global product team spanning P&C insurance domain experts, UX design, engineering, product marketing, alliances and other cross-functional teams to own and drive Claims product vision and strategy from ideation to successful adoption by Guidewire customers.  

You will be responsible for understanding the Claims business, including alliances and Go-to-Market. You will work with Sales and Go-to-Market leadership to set and track targets, understand pipeline, assist with deal closures, and ensure internal and external enablement and education of claims product and features to further adoption.  You will also work with our alliances team to understand insurtech and partner offerings that can further the Claims roadmap and vision. 

This position is remote, however, expectation of travel to Guidewire, San Mateo HQ and customers globally is expected. 

What you get to do in this role

    • Own the overarching Claims business, including the strategy, roadmap and execution plan that will provide measurable results for our customers.
    • Drive business, financial, and operations planning required to ensure Claims product and features meet expectations for in-market performance and top line revenue growth.
    • Drive development of a cohesive, multi-year product strategy based on market needs as well as input from subject matter experts both within and outside of Guidewire.
    • Leverage the latest technologies in AI/ML, including LLM and Cloud delivery models to achieve the business objectives of Claims departments and Chief Claims Officers.
    • Champion customer-centered, market-driven thinking throughout the Claims products team to ensure products are fully aligned with business needs.
    • Collaborate with other members of the leadership team to define comprehensive programs for educating and enabling internal and external constituents on new Claims products and features.
    • Work with Finance and Sales Leadership to set Claims yearly sales targets and track pipeline and quarterly target attainment.  Assist the sales team in closing deals. Work with Alliances to evaluate partner offerings both to further Claims roadmap and provide value to our customers.
    • Work with Product Marketing to articulate and evangelize the business value proposition of Claims product vision, strategy and roadmap and assist with Field/Partner enablement of new claims product and features. 
    • Evangelize Guidewire’s Claims cloud strategy and vision to both internal and external stakeholders, including the Guidewire management team, industry analysts, customers and prospects, as well as SIs and solution partners.
    • Lead a globally distributed team of product managers, business analysts, domain experts and other key contributors responsible for next generation claims solutions in P&C.
    • Recruit and mentor a high-performance product management team, ensuring members have the resources, skills, and capabilities needed to conceive, define and deliver new Claims products, leveraging Cloud and AI/ML technologies. 
    • Engage as a key contributor and highly influential member of the product leadership team to drive alignment across a range of opinions, alternatives and competing interests.

Required Skill and Experience

    • 10+ years of increasingly responsible product management leadership experience at a commercial enterprise software company.5+ years of experience in managing cloud-native business applications.
    • Demonstrated ability to operate in a matrix environment, and lead with influence.
    • Deep and demonstrated experience with highly configurable enterprise software products and solutions.
    • Strong business acumen and ability to both plan and drive the achievement of revenue targets across the product portfolio.
    • Keen understanding and appreciation for the business value of user-centered experience design and of design-oriented thinking overall.
    • Solid aptitude and interest in understanding and exploring how new advances in technology, including Cloud, AI/ML, and LLM can help customers achieve their business objectives. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially the ability to make complex concepts simple and understandable, and present clearly and persuasively to customers, partners, colleagues and senior executives.
    • Track record of successfully managing ambiguity and maintaining a focus on high leverage activities - i.e. taking in a lot of input and conflicting requests while still moving forward at a fast pace.
    • Strong people management skills with proven success in motivating, mentoring and creating an environment where the best talent wants to be.BA/BS required. MBA preferred.
$182,000 - $274,000 a year
Our US base salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
