Hadrian builds software-defined high precision component factories for the top aerospace companies in the world. After a successful customer beta phase, we are substantially scaling our operations to our second factory (based in Torrance) and are in the final stretch of building our core software engineering and product team from whom the future of Hadrian will be built upon. This team will leverage various current and advanced technologies and build custom in house software solutions to help improve, automate and scale the future of manufacturing in the U.S.
We are in search of individuals with the drive to augment manufacturing heping enable our engineers build complex, yet elegant software as well as the machinists who have a passion to push the trade forward.

Controller
We're looking for a Controller to join our finance team. Hadrian is building the world’s most advanced and automated factory system, and we’re looking for someone to help us build the accounting systems to match. At Hadrian we have a reverence for data and we’ve built the business to capture and produce metrics for every move we make. This position will own all aspects of accounting and will be a key contributor in creating systems and processes to synthesize that data into unit-cost analysis for our manufactured products, producing timely financial reporting to our investors, and ensuring our financial accounting is accurate. You’ll report directly to the Head of Finance and work hand in hand with the Leadership Team. This is a high visibility role with the ability to build a team to support Hadrian’s growth.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all accounting functions, ensuring the smooth operation of monthly closing processes and delivering precise financial reporting to both internal and external stakeholders
- Develop and implement cost accounting procedures and automations for job costing, presenting job cost vs. forecast metrics to company leadership
- Establish, document, and deploy accounting procedures to govern accounting and financial activities, including implementation of new accounting standards
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable operations, establishing efficient processing of invoices, payments, and collections. Build and lead a team to support scaling operations
- Take ownership of accounting information systems and scope requirements for integration with our internally developed manufacturing software. Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of accounting processes with overall operations as we scale multiple factories
- Create and implement flexible and actionable product-costing models for our manufactured products, contributing to improved decision-making
- Administer shop and labor rate standards, collaborating with various stakeholders within the business
- Coordinate with external auditors during year-end audits, providing necessary documentation and information related to inventory, cost of goods sold, and R&D spending. Ensure compliance with audit requirements
- Manage inventory valuation for current and future production locations, maintaining inventory reconciliations, and establishing requirements for new sites/programs
- Ensure accurate recording and reporting of stock-based compensation expenses
- Analyze and record R&D inventory and project expenses accurately to the respective projects and departments
- Stay updated on technological advancements in accounting software and recommend improvements or upgrades as needed
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, mathematics, engineering or other technical discipline
- 6+ years of experience in general accounting, cost accounting, financial operations, or financial analysis of manufacturing activities
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Strong desire to build systems and processes vs. operating within established ones
- Hands-on experience in a fast growing company or startup, particularly within aerospace, defense, semiconductor or other manufacturing industries
- Strong problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, ability to work with different teams and contractors effectively
- Experience with SQL
- Advanced Excel modeling and reporting skills
- CPA designation with strong knowledge of GAAP for manufacturing businesses
- Experience developing BI dashboards
Compensation and Benefits
For this role, the target salary range is $140,000 - $180,000 (actual range may vary based on experience).
This is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
