Hadrian builds software-defined high precision component factories for the top aerospace companies in the world. After a successful customer beta phase, we are substantially scaling our operations to our second factory (based in Torrance) and are in the final stretch of building our core software engineering and product team from whom the future of Hadrian will be built upon. This team will leverage various current and advanced technologies and build custom in house software solutions to help improve, automate and scale the future of manufacturing in the U.S.

We are in search of software engineers with the drive to augment manufacturing and build complex, yet elegant, software and the machinists who have a passion to push the trade forward.

At Hadrian, manufacturing automation and efficiency optimization is driven by data. Data is at the epicenter of what we do and we are looking for passionate and mission driven data engineers to help us build, automate and launch the factory of the future.

As a key member of the Data Engineering organization, you will spearhead data-driven architectures and solutions to a number of manufacturing processes across the factory. You will work with a number of cross-disciplines across our org (i.e Robotics/Mechatronics Engineers, CNC Machinists, CAD/CAM , Data Science) to create the mechanisms that capture the data that will ultimately automate and optimize our software-defined precision component factories.

What you will do

    • Conceptualize and own the data architecture for multiple large-scale projects at Hadrian, while evaluating design and operational cost-benefit tradeoffs within systems.
    • Create and contribute to data frameworks that span on-premises and cloud infrastructure improve the efficacy of logging machine data, while working with data infrastructure to triage issues and resolve.
    • Collaborate with machine engineers, product managers, and data scientists to understand data needs, representing key data insights visually in a meaningful way.
    • Design, build, and launch collections of sophisticated data models and visualizations that support multiple use cases across different products or domains.
    • Solve our most challenging machine data integration problems, utilizing optimal ETL patterns, frameworks, query techniques, sourcing from structured and unstructured data sources.
    • Assist in owning existing machine data integration processes running in production, optimizing code through advanced algorithmic concepts.
    • Influence product and cross functional teams using best of breed technical solution design and create a culture of feedback driven improvement

You will be successful if you have

    • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, applied data science or similar field
    • Either have a Bachelors/Masters in STEM/Computer Science OR you have the equivalent in real/applied work experience
    • A deep understanding of and experience utilizing engineering/CS best practices
    • Expert in Python and SQL
    • Demonstrated experience and understanding of both NoSQL and SQL databases
    • Solution driven mindset
    • Driven to find answers to questions that possibly may not have been asked ever before

This puts you over the top

    • Master’s degree
    • Exposure to Machine Integration API style data integration
    • Experience with data product vendor landscape for tool evaluation and selection
    • Experience in creating visualization for data analytical needs
    • Expertise in managing data around regulatory conformances
