5-Axis Machinist

Los Angeles
Manufacturing – Manufacturing Operations /
FTE (Full Time) /
Hadrian - Manufacturing the Future

Hadrian builds software-defined high-precision component factories for the top aerospace companies in the world. We are in search of individuals with the drive to augment manufacturing, helping enable our engineers to build complex, yet elegant software as well as machinists who have a passion for pushing the trade forward.

Straight to the point:

We’re seeking machinists to help us expand capacity and grow our team. A machinist role at Hadrian is unique in the fact that it builds on our automation and gives end to end ownership of our product beyond day to day CNC operation. Our machinists interface with our R&D, programming, and engineering teams to further develop our process and redefine industry standards.

About the Factory team and this role:

Hadrian's CAM automation ensures that we reduce programming time by 90% and machine cycle time by 60%. This is a core cost and lead time driver for Space / Defense manufacturing giving us a competitive edge in industry. We are extending that automation to the shop floor, optimizing and connecting disparate elements of the business. As a machinist you'll work with the R&D team to automate redundant work flows, and document and test those optimizations to make our factory faster, better, and more reliable. Ultimately, your input will be a core part of the automation we are building to help facilitate factory operations.

In this role you will

    • work in a clean, air conditioned fast paced manufacturing environment
    • set up tools, work holdings and prep jobs for machining centers
    • maintain end to end ownership of the machining process from setup through in-process validation, deburr and clean
    • get exposure to the best machines and machinists in the country
    • help develop and bolster some the most advanced automation in industry
    • have the opportunity to grow your career with a rapidly growing company

This might be a good fit if you

    • have A++ work ethic and are an incredible team player ("not my job" is not part of your vocabulary)
    • are hungry to learn and grow
    • are passionate about Manufacturing, Space, Defense and the Hadrian mission
    • hands on experience operating 5-axis CNC mills
    • are driven to optimize everything you do
    • are great at explaining and documenting processes
    • are not afraid to be challenged and defend your ideas, but willing to change your mind based on evidence

Nice to have (or excited to learn! you don't have to possess these to be a great fit.)

    • 5+ years of experience in set up, operation CNC mills
    • apprenticeship or vocational training preferred
    • forklift certification
Factory #1 is in LA, and this is a full time in person role.
