Who we are
We're building a prayer and meditation app. One that is authentically Christian and Catholic, while at the same time a resource for anyone looking to grow deeper in a relationship with God. We believe that people are hungry for peace, and that there is no surer way to find it than by learning to sit in silence with Christ: “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest” (Mt 11:28).
Our goal is to build something truly great. Something that combines the beauty of the Church’s spirituality with world-class product and content execution.
We launched the app in December of 2018 and have been blown away with the incredible growth & traction. Hallow has been downloaded over 15 million times with over 250,000 5-star reviews. We're blessed to be backed by some of the best mission-driven investors in the world and are excited to build out the team to help a lot more folks grow closer to God.

Tldr: We’re looking for an incredible, original content creator to help us continue to lead our French-speaking community closer to God.
What You'll Do
- Build a full library of French-language content: Reporting to the Western Europe Content Lead, you will continue to build out a full version of Hallow in French.
- Acquire, translate, and write prayers: This role requires the ability to research prayers and prayer traditions from around the world to ensure proper representation, accurately translate prayers from English to French, and write original prayers in French. A background in theology and writing are both essential.
- Work with French-speaking guest contributors: You will reach out to a variety of speakers, authors, theologians, religious, etc. to gather guest content such as prayer sessions and Bible Stories. At times, you may need to attend live recordings (whether in person or online). You must be comfortable reaching out to new people and should enjoy working with a variety of folks.
- Be an integral part of the Content Team: As part of the Content Team, you’ll be asked to help out with various aspects of content, sometimes outside of French, such as helping conduct QA (Quality Assurance) on sessions before they go on the app. Willingness to jump in and having a strong attention to detail is a must.
- Work with the Growth and Product Teams: At times, you’ll work with the Growth team and provide input on ads, messaging, and emails. Being part of a startup means working across a lot of different areas!
What We're Looking For
- Passion: First & foremost, we’re looking for someone excited about our mission. It makes it a lot more fun :)
- Bilingual (French & English): You are a native speaker of French and a fluent speaker of English.
- Experience: 2+ years of experience building and running paid media campaigns. Bonus if you have experience with LCM copywriting, influencer marketing, and/or translating content.
- Communication: You’re an expert communicator and conversationalist. Being able to communicate, negotiate, and build relationships is a must in both French and English. Experience with influencer marketing, partnerships, or relationships with the Catholic Church in the region is a huge bonus.
- Grit & detail-oriented: We really care about what we’re doing & try to build as fast as we can. Since we’re guiding meditation and competing with some large players in the market (Calm, Headspace), we have to stand out. Everything we do, say, send, or spend money on should be top-notch quality and set Hallow apart as the best.

- Ownership: You’ll play a central role in creating an entirely French Catholic prayer and meditation app. This will be a part-time role for at least the remainder of 2024.
- Growth: You’ll be a part of the startup journey from the beginning. Over the next couple of years we plan to expand the company significantly and we’ll need your help to build the French content team, as well as set the tone for how we will expand the app into other languages.
- Flexibility: Hallow HQ is in Chicago but our preference is that this role is based in France. We want our Content Lead to be close to the people we are reaching! However, this role will also require some late afternoon and early evening work in order to maximize overlap with the U.S. Central Time Zone.
$20 - $30 an hour
This position is a part-time, contract role with no additional benefits offered. The actual amounts could be anywhere within the stated range, dependent on experience.
