The Role

We are seeking a Hardware Product Manager with an electronic engineering background to play a crucial role in managing the electronic design and development of body-worn cameras, battery charging equipment, and wireless accessories.

Responsibilities

    • Manage the design and development of body worn cameras, battery charging equipment and wireless accessories. 
    • Prepare documentation on hardware design, technical specifications and bill of materials.
    • Prepare prototypes, test and debug, explore new product ideas and identify possible product improvements.
    • Liaise with the manufacturing suppliers / contractors on the quality of design and manufacturing process. Conduct regular design reviews, define test plans, product acceptance criteria and quality metrics. Ensure the high quality of hardware deliverables in a timely manner.
    • Manage the product compliance and regulation, including but not limited to CE, UKCA, FCC, IC, ETL, UL, NOM, TRP/TIS, SAR, IP/IK ratings and other worldwide standards etc.
    • Set up the hardware development and testing facilities in the company, perform competitive product analysis, enhance the hardware knowhow, testing and troubleshooting skills across the team. 
    • Work closely with cross functional stakeholders to fulfil the product requirement, conduct feasibility study and exploit innovative ideas.
    • Excellent communication skills, strong sense of teamwork, self motivation and time management in a fast moving environment.
    • Some local or overseas travel on needs. 

Qualifications

    • Bachelor degrees or above in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience in hardware design and testing. 

Skills

    • Solid design experience in security video products or relevant.
    • Strong knowledge in schematics, PCB design and hardware troubleshooting skills.
    • Strong knowledge in video, audio, power management and wireless communications.
    • Solid experience in the manufacturing process and product development cycle.
    • Strong knowledge in product compliance and lab testing, including safety, RF transmission, IP/IK, reliability, etc     
    • Strong knowledge with embedded development platforms (e.g. ARM, MIPS, RISC)
    • Strong knowledge of EDA tools (e.g OrCad, Allegro, Solidworks or relevant)
    • Knowledge in RF design, product security and system hardening is an advantage.
    • Knowledge of firmware development and testing is an advantage.
