About the role

This role can be based in either Auckland or Christchurch.

We are searching for a driven and high-performing Account Executive to qualify, generate and close new opportunities for our Halter Beef solution across the NZ and Australian markets in a digital sales model. This is an opportunity to positively disrupt an industry and pioneer groundbreaking change on some of the world’s highest-performing farms, while also helping to move the industry forward and overcome larger macro challenges.

You will be responsible for helping to further accelerate growth for one of the fastest-growing companies in New Zealand and one of the most exciting start-ups globally. What your day could look like

    • Manage the entire sales cycle from prospecting through to close as a hunter.
    • Virtual Sales meetings: Understanding the needs and problems of your prospects through a consultative sales process then clearly communicating functionality, and benefits and highlighting value relative to each farming operation via phone and Google meets.
    • Confirming Deployment: Working with signed customers to confirm deployment dates. 
    • Prospecting: Building and growing a pipeline of quality farms fit for Halter, while continuously reducing sales cycle times. Managing newly sourced and inbound leads through the initial stages of the pipeline including screening and qualifying along with nurturing lost deals and reigniting prospects.
    • Cross-functional collaboration: Work intimately with other Business development executives, customer success and deployment teams. 
    • Networking: Building and leveraging industry relationships to establish and create opportunity
    • Forecasting: Working with the Head of Digital Sales to enable monthly and quarterly forecasting of revenue through accurate and timely management of CRM (Salesforce)
    • Upselling & Cross-Selling: Creating opportunities with existing customers to build further value within their operation. 

Who we’re looking for

    • Experience in growing new & existing business, owning the end-to-end sales cycle from lead generation to close via virtual meetings, including strong knowledge of sales processes.
    • A deep passion for helping farmers succeed. Experience in farm systems or within the agricultural sector would be a nice to have.
    • Previous sales hunting experience, or related SaaS sales experience preferred.
    • Experience or interest in farming or within the agricultural sector with a deep passion for helping farmers succeed.
    • A phenomenal attitude and a team player with the ability to consistently overcome challenges and problem-solve.
    • The ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced working environment with a high degree of autonomy.
    • A hunger for success and personal growth to be able to evolve quickly alongside as part of a world-class sales team.
    • Strong knowledge and abilities in using full tech stack (including Salesforce)
    • 1-2 years of Account/Business Development Executive experience preferable.

Our Office First Approach (For Auckland Offices)

We do have flexible working hours and you can work from home when you need to but we encourage our team to be in the office as much as you can.

We have an office-first approach because we would like to keep the opportunity for teams to have spontaneous interactions which in turn has allowed our team at Halter to foster strong relationships. Stronger relationships make it easier to disagree, give feedback, do meaningful work and as a result, be higher performing as a team.

This is applicable mainly for our Auckland office-based roles rather than on-the-road roles in teams such as Customer Success or Business Development teams.
