Head of Corporate Accounts (ANZ)

Canterbury

Full-time /

The future of food production hinges on an important question: How do we feed the world’s growing population without compromising our natural resources? Both dairy and beef farmers feed our population and hold the keys to vital climate solutions. At Halter, we’re on a mission to enable farmers to run the most productive and sustainable farms. Farmers are using Halter to break free from the time-intensive constraints of conventional farming. They’re growing more grass, increasing milk production and/or helping their cattle gain more weight (for beef farming) and improving the health and well-being of their cows.

We bridge deep tech into farming. Halter enables farmers to remotely shift, virtually fence and proactively monitor their cows’ health and behaviour. Can you imagine watching 500 cows or cattle walk calmly towards the milking shed or their next break? No quad bikes, no dogs, no fences. Just a mob of cows walking at their own pace. People say it looks like magic. Our customers are revolutionising farming with Halter. It's changing lives and transforming an industry.

People join Halter because they want to do meaningful work. By joining us you’ll be solving challenging problems within a talented team and a culture built for high performance. Our team out-think, out-work and out-care. We’re committed to delivering real change in the world - this isn’t easy, and in truth, we love that it’s hard. We’re backed to deliver on a mission that matters by Tier 1 investors including Bessemer Venture PartnersDCVCBlackbirdPromus Ventures, Rocket Lab’s Peter Beck and Icehouse ventures.

About the role

This role can be based based in Auckland, Waikato or Canterbury.

We are searching for a driven and skilful Head of Corporate Accounts to work alongside and grow Halter’s Corporate customers across New Zealand and Australia in both Beef and Dairy sectors. We’re looking for someone with commercial nous, X-factor and the ability to overcome complex negotiations. You will be reporting to the Director of Customer (NZ), to ensure alignment across all of the customer teams.

Could be a bit of you? You’ll be a hunter at heart, chasing the largest accounts. When the pressure is on in the biggest moments, you’ll be someone who wants to be in the game. You might find yourself in a boardroom in Ashburton negotiating a multi-million dollar contract one day, reporting key KPIs to a GM the next day, upskilling and training your team by Friday and then in a set of yards in Queensland the next week. You’ll be at all levels of a farming org, able to masterfully share context and build trusting relationships.

This isn’t a typical role. This is a high-stakes role, spearheading Halter’s growth into the corporate market segment.
Aside from jumping on the Halter roller coaster, you will be making a real-world impact, making farming more productive and sustainable. You will build relationships across New Zealand and Australia's most influential farming leaders while working closely with senior leaders and the exec team within Halter.

What your day could look like

    • Executive/Board level sales meetings: Understanding the business structure, needs and problems of large, multi-dimensional businesses. Work with them to clearly communicate functionality, and benefits and highlighting value relative to each enterprise, while working through complex sales cycles.
    • Training and Development: Adapt Halter’s existing sales process to develop and implement training programs for the Corporate Accounts team, ensuring continuous skill enhancement and alignment with company objectives. Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration within the sales organization.
    • Strategic Sales Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive Corporate Accounts strategy aligned with Halter's expansion goals. Lead and grow a high-performing team, providing direction, training and management to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
    • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with product, customer success and support teams to ensure exceptional results for enterprise accounts.
    • Prospecting: Building and growing a pipeline of enterprise businesses fit for Halter, while continuously reducing sales cycle times. Managing newly sourced and inbound leads through the initial stages of the pipeline including screening and qualifying.
    • Networking: Building and leveraging industry relationships to establish and maintain Halter's brand.
    • Forecasting: Working with the Director of Customer to enable monthly and quarterly forecasting of revenue.
    • Growth initiatives: Working with the Director of Customer to optimise and evolve the sales process to become faster, more efficient, and more predictable as the company scales.

Who are we looking for

    • A hunter. Someone who doesn’t believe in glass ceilings, walks towards the pressure of large targets and thrives on hard problems.
    • Experience working with enterprise customers, navigating complex sales cycles and expanding value over time.
    • Strong ability to work cross-functionally.
    • Experience in growing new business, owning the end-to-end sales cycle from lead generation to close.
    • A deep passion for helping farmers succeed. Experience in farm systems or within the agricultural sector would be a bonus.
    • A phenomenal attitude and a team player with the ability to consistently overcome challenges.
    • The ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced working environment with a high degree of autonomy.
    • A hunger for success and personal growth to be able to evolve quickly alongside a world-class sales team.

Our Office First Approach (For Auckland Offices)

We do have flexible working hours and you can work from home when you need to but we encourage our team to be in the office as much as you can.

We have an office-first approach because we would like to keep the opportunity for teams to have spontaneous interactions which in turn has allowed our team at Halter to foster strong relationships. Stronger relationships make it easier to disagree, give feedback, do meaningful work and as a result, be higher performing as a team.

This is applicable mainly for our Auckland office-based roles rather than on-the-road roles in teams such as Customer Success or Business Development teams.
