About the role
We’re seeking a Head of Production to lead our Production Engineering team and drive the development and scaling of our hardware production. In this key leadership role, you’ll guide a team focused on building robust assembly and test processes to deliver high-quality, cost-effective hardware on time and at scale. The role involves close collaboration with top-tier suppliers in Asia and requires approximately 25% international travel.

What your day could look like
- Lead and develop a high-performing Production Engineering team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement. Plan production capacity to match our expanding demand.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of reliable manufacturing, assembly and test processes for high-volume electro-mechanical products.
- Use production data and KPIs to prioritize resources across sustaining efforts, NPI (New Product Introduction), and supplier engagement aligning with broader business objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with global suppliers, influencing their technical direction and ensuring optimal support for our hardware.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to communicate production requirements, timelines, risks, and integration priorities.
- Own key production outcomes from prototype through to mass production, including change management and factory integration of equipment, firmware, and software.
- Support team development through regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and structured personal development planning.
- Stay current on industry best practices, standards, and emerging technologies in manufacturing and production quality.
Who we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in high-volume product manufacturing, ideally with electro-mechanical systems.
- 3+ years in technical leadership and people management roles, with the ability to balance strategic thinking and hands-on support.
- Strong background in production quality systems and methodologies (e.g. IPC standards, statistical process control, lean manufacturing).
- Experience with electronics assembly (SMT and through-hole), final box build, and production test systems.
- Familiarity with high-reliability products, ongoing product reliability testing and mechanical part manufacturing is a plus.
- Deep understanding of product lifecycle transitions, from NPI to mass production.
- Willingness to travel internationally (approximately 25% of the time) and engage directly at manufacturing sites.
- A proactive, positive mindset and the drive to thrive in a dynamic, startup environment.
