Summary of Position:
HPS is seeking a mid-level communications professional to join our dynamic team in our New York office. Directors at HPS lead multiple client teams and internal projects and work in a fun, fast-paced, and challenging environment. Directors are responsible for all components of client and internal project management, such as: strategy setting, daily client interactions, organizing teamwork internally, and guiding and mentoring associates, analysts, and interns in their work. The successful candidate has 5-7 years of relevant experience, is intellectually curious and eager to learn and contribute, and has an interest in corporate strategy and stakeholder engagement.

Duties & Responsibilities:
+ Project Management: Develop client strategy and plan and oversee execution of team deliverables
+ Client Service: Deliver highest quality of client service by leveraging prior experience and maintaining current knowledge base of relevant client businesses and industries
+ Corporate Advisory: Inform comprehensive communications and stakeholder engagement strategies with deep understanding of business strategy; understand and translate high-profile corporate communications issues for key audiences
+ Media & Third-Party Relations: Leverage and maintain strong relationships with key reporters, producers, business groups, academics, etc.
+ Staff Development: Lead internal skills development sessions for new hires along with day-to-day coaching through client work and internal projects
+ Client Acquisition: Drive proposal writing process and pitch preparation and coordination, helping potential clients understand the value of the HPS team

+ Required:
o Bachelor's degree in business, communications, economics, journalism, or related field
o 5-7 years of professional experience in communications roles, investor relations, corporate affairs, issue management, etc.
o Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and motivate multiple talented, high-achieving teams at once, empowering different types of personalities with a team-first mentality
o Expertise and interest in working with business leaders on corporate reputation and complex communications challenges
o Strong analytical skills coupled with excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills o Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple, competing priorities
o Willingness to learn new skills and participate in new projects, leading by example and embracing new challenges
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
+ Preferred:
o Experience working in a client service environment
o In-depth knowledge of ESG, capital markets, financial institutions, asset management, hedge funds, etc.
o Significant experience in investor relations or financial communications (including M&A)
