The Director of IT Infrastructure role will serve as a key member of the Information Technology department. This is a hands-on role responsible for all aspects of contributing to information technology initiatives within the organization.  The primary role for this position is to ensure efficient operations of IT infrastructure, oversee on-site and off-site redundancy of business data, and respond rapidly to any network and server problems, implement and maintain the organization’s cybersecurity strategy, and oversee and maintain compliant IT general controls.  Perform risk analysis to avoid any issues with IT systems, and quickly develop solutions to ensure high systems availability.

• IT project planning and management
• Cybersecurity program management
• Technology vendor management, oversight, and collaboration
• Business continuity and disaster recovery planning
• Storage and compute management
• Systems engineering
• Manage backup and recovery processes
• Oversee system, network, and security monitoring devices, systems, and appliances
• Proactively implement system and network improvements
• Developing and implementing highly available and scalable technology infrastructures
• Technical product evaluation and selection
• Strong communications skills
• Ability to present technical concepts and create technical documentation
• Ability to quickly adopt and master new technologies
• Team player, goal oriented, with initiative to work until job is complete
• Motivate and develop other IT staff

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Extensive knowledge and experience of compute environments, multi-tiered storage architectures and all aspects of component connectivity
• Experience configuring, managing and securing networks with the following are required:

o Cisco technologies (ex. Firewalls, Switches, Meraki)
o VMWare ESXi (vSphere, vMotion)
o Dell servers
o AWS
o Azure
o Office 365
o Microsoft Servers (2012-2019)
o Linux (varying distributions, including Amazon)
o APC/Schneider power equipment

• Expert knowledge of network concepts and best practices for routing, network protocols (TCP/IP) and services (DNS, DHCP), network design (NATs, subnets, VLANs), remoting (VPNs, IPSec)
• Ability to analyze and compare best of breed technologies
• Oversight of monitoring solutions to provide quick issue response and resolution
• Extensive knowledge and experience with multi-site architectures and high availability configurations
• Strong ability to assess disaster recovery functionality within every layer of the Infrastructure
• Thorough understanding of security vulnerabilities in each environment and importance of risk assessments
• Experience with physically distributed networks
• Knowledge of electrical engineering and power management concepts (voltage, watts, etc)
• Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle preferred but not required

QUALIFICATIONS

• Individual should have experience in incident response and remediation, data center and corporate support, systems analysis, technical document development, technology vendor management, contract negotiations, team building, and staff management
• Strong interpersonal communication skills
• The ability to expertly convey information in non-technical terms with professionalism and confidence
• Capacity for adaptation to a rapidly changing environment
• Thorough experience within all areas of IT systems and infrastructure
• Must be technically hands-on and able to assist with general IT support tasks as needed
• Highly self-motivated and directed
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, and to assess and adjust quickly to changing priorities

EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of industry experience
• 10+ years as IT professional
• 7+ years in senior IT roles
