The Harris Poll is seeking a Business Development Specialist to join The Harris Poll Brand Platform team.  The Harris Poll Brand Platform is a competitive intelligence tracking tool that supports all manner of teams including Insights, Brand, Marketing, Creative, and Corporate Communications with real time data in an intuitive and engaging manner. The Harris Poll Brand Platform launched in 2019 with the goal of providing real-time insights for companies of all sizes to help them find aspects of brand and competitive data to set them apart. The insights from The Harris Poll Brand Platform are delivered on demand at an affordable price point.  
 
Given the rapid and sustainable growth we are experiencing, we are looking to add a Business Development Specialist to our fast-growing, high-energy team. This individual will report to the Head of Harris’ Commercial business and will have alignment with Harris’ Marketing and Account Executive teams and contribute to the success of sales initiatives and the growth of the Brand Platform. The team is seeking someone who thrives in an entrepreneurial setting and who understands the importance one person can represent in a high growth business.
 
We are seeking a motivated, goal-oriented individual who possesses exceptional attention to detail and has outstanding communication skills, both written and oral. This role will also require the candidate to manage a continuous flow of leads, serving as the very first point of contact for new client relationships.

Responsibilities:

    • Proactively lead effective client research and targeted outreach strategies to support the success of The Harris Poll Brand Platform
    • Create and continuously hone messaging templates and campaign templates
    • Generate and secure meetings with consistent outreach to potential clients through messaging, phone outreach, and through social media channels (i.e., LinkedIn, Twitter)
    • Own end-to-end execution of email lifecycle marketing campaigns (copywriting; drip campaigns; segmentations; targeted emails; CRM integration; A/B testing; reporting)
    • Develop client contact and segmentation lists
    • Determine email campaign KPIs and analyze campaign performance to establish methods for future campaign improvements
    • Collaboration with the Harris’ Marketing team to execute on various priorities relating to outreach and marketing campaigns (i.e., messaging, presentation decks, marketing collateral, etc.)
    • Provide an excellent first impression of The Harris Poll and the Brand Platform by recognizing the need for urgency and consistent follow up. 
    • Develop a solid understanding of The Harris Poll Brand Platform’s value proposition and be able to articulate such to potential clients

Qualifications and Professional Competencies:

    • Excited to drive lead generation and cold outreach efforts for a wide set of clients, both domestically and internationally
    • Extremely detail oriented. Understands the importance of immediacy and consistent follow up in sales
    • Experienced in searching for and identifying the ideal company and gatekeepers for a product
    • Experience with email marketing, lead generation, and marketing automation
    • Proven skills in creating messaging to target potential clients
    • Understands importance of immediacy and consistent follow up in connection with sales motions
    • Experience using a Sales Engagement Platform such as Outreach.io, SalesLoft, Seamless.ai, Gong, Hubspot, Sales Navigator or similar tools for outreach management
    • Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to multi-task in a deadline-driven atmosphere
    • Excellent written communication, project management, and copywriting skills
    • Interpersonal, leadership and influencing skills, ability to self-direct, work independently and collaborate effectively with a cross-functional team
    • High levels of integrity, autonomy, and self-motivation
    • Prefers an entrepreneurial environment and the ability to make impact in a growing organization
    • Demonstrates resiliency within the growing and changing team. 
    • Excited at the prospect of helping to build a company and participate in a collaborative work community
    • Proven execution and understanding of email campaign best practices (including segmentations, CRM management, mapping of customer journey, etc.)
    • 4-7 years’ experience in a Sales and Marketing department

$55,000 - $65,000 a year
In order to comply with equal pay and salary transparency laws in various locations, we believe the target range of base compensation in all locations within the United States for this role is $55,000- $65,000. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
