About the Role:
APEX TK is looking for an amazingly talented Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Coordinator to join their team! In this role, you will get to provide technical support to their Missile Defense Agency, Targets and Countermeasures Program Executive Office (MDA/TC) SBIR and STTR programs.

Responsibilities:

    • Provide engineering recommendations and coordination support for all TC SBIR/STTR programs
    • Coordinate with the team of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Chief Engineers, and supporting engineers on each SBIR and STTR before recommending the path forward to Phase II and beyond
    • Coordinate with TC Program Managers for potential transition of SBIR/STTR technologies into future Target systems
    • Communicate with the MDA/TC Systems Engineering & Integration Director on the selection of experiments and submit them to the SBIR/STTR Research Council (RC)
    • Coordinate and communicate with the Technical Monitors to ensure they have the information needed to manage their SBIR/STTRs
    • Support monthly and quarterly reviews of every project to ensure that SBIR/STTR program encompasses the evolving needs of our mission and that experiments are firmly on track and continue to encompass all of TC requirements to advance Target capabilities
    • Support testing and assist in coordinating tests when required
    • Coordinate and support all meetings and reviews
    • Travel to corporate offices for site visits, kick off meetings and reviews
    • Prepare Program Director Reviews every six months and perform coordination for all meeting logistics
    • Provide status and update the Staff Call Charts weekly, and update the “Snap Shot” charts
    • Coordinate NDA's and User Agreements and verify they are signed and provided to the appropriate MDA organization
    • Assign and train Technical Monitors
    • Prepare charts for the research council
    • Process and investigate history on proposed SBIR/STTRs and conduct reviews of each project
    • Support bi-weekly SBIR/STTR meetings. Review information to insure it is accurate and up to date

Required Qualifications:

    • Active Secret Clearance
    • Master’s degree and 12+ years working on missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD program/project OR Bachelor’s degree and 20+ years working on
    • missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD program/project
    • Works independently and/or leads teams to analyze and resolve problems
    • Must be able to provide daily supervision and direction to support teams as applicable
    • Strong communication skills to include oral, written and briefing
    • Capability to develop and clearly present reports and presentations to senior management-level personnel
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft tools, e.g. PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Word
    • Must be a pro-active, self-starter

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Familiarity/experience with the Federal SBIR and STTR programs
    • Familiarity with the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) organization/processes and the Missile Defense System (MDS)
    • Familiarity with government acquisition, systems engineering, and standard test processes
    • Prior experience working directly with prime contractors and Federally Funded Research & Development Centers (FFRDCs) on behalf of the government
    • Technical proposal development and evaluation
