HCVT operates under a hybrid working model. Effective Jan 1, 2024, employees are expected to work at their assigned office a minimum of two days per week. In the event that this is not geographically reasonable, you may work in the office closest to your home.  Additionally, we expect employees to participate in required firm events/meeting (e.g., trainings, team bonding, client meetings, etc.)

As an Experienced Staff in Tax, you will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

    • Prepares federal and multi-state income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts; also prepares related income tax workpapers
    • Prepares correspondences from taxing authorities
    • Identify accounting and income tax issues and proposes strategies to resolve them
    • Perform tax technical research as needed
    • Learn and effectively utilize firm tax software to continually learn, knowledge sharing, and enhance the quality of service to clients
    • Work closely with a team and communicates job status with all levels of the engagement team
    • Complete assigned projects within engagement timeline and budget guidelines
    • Develop strong relationships with firm professionals at all levels
    • Participate in firm trainings, recruiting events, and firm activities
    • Work with your buddy and performance manager on professional development of both technical and soft skills
    • Work on ad hoc projects assigned by your supervisors

To be successful, these are the skills and experience you will need:

    • Undergraduate or Master's degree
    • Should be sitting for or already passed the CPA examination
    • 1 to 2 years of relevant experience
    • A solid understanding of accounting
    • Ability to utilize firm technology to enhance client service
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Significant recent work experience in accounting or income tax is helpful
    • Exposure to, or basic understanding of, income tax
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office computer programs; GoSystems experience is a plus

This salary range is specific to the state(s) listed and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill set and education; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.A reasonable estimate of the range for this position is $72,000 to $82,000
