HCVT operates under a hybrid working model. Effective Jan 1, 2024, employees are expected to work at their assigned office a minimum of two days per week. In the event that this is not geographically reasonable, you may work in the office closest to your home.  Additionally, we expect employees to participate in required firm events/meeting (e.g., trainings, team bonding, client meetings, etc.)

As a Staff in our International Tax service line, you will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

    • Prepares international, federal, and multi-state income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts; also prepares related income tax work papers.
    • Learn and understand international tax rules and concepts applied to individuals, partnerships, and corporations.
    • Identifies accounting and income tax issues and proposes strategies to resolve them.
    • Responds and prepares correspondence to taxing authorities.
    • Researches tax matters.
    • Effectively communicates with all levels of the engagement team and client personnel (i.e., job status and budget) on a timely basis.
    • Works with a team on a variety of engagements.
    • Communicates status of work and issues with seniors, managers or partners on a timely basis.
    • Develops strong relationships with firm and client personnel.
    • Ability to proficiently use the firm’s income tax preparation software.

To be successful, these are the skills and experience you will need:

    • On track to completing a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a master’s degree in accounting between December 2023 – June 2024.
    • Minimum overall and accounting GPAs of 3.0
    • Active membership in Beta Alpha Psi or another accounting campus organization
    • Strong technical aptitude and evidence of effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Exhibit leadership skills that demonstrates strong judgement, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
    • Able to learn in a fast paced environment  and receptive to feedback and coaching
    • Ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities, and take initiative on projects
    • Can work independently and manage multiple assignments in a dynamic environment
    • High attention to detail
    • A positive attitude and a team player mentality with a can-do spirit
    • Is client-centric and willing to go the extra mile to meet deadlines

This salary range is specific to the state(s) listed and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill set and education; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the range for this position is $75,000 to $80,000.
