As part of the HCVT Fort Worth team, you will work in a fast-paced environment, with a tax practice that is focused on serving clientele in the Alternative Investment Management industries. Our culture is all about collaboration, teamwork, giving back to our communities, partner access and accountability.  We maintain a strong focus on providing exceptional client service, resulting in long lasting client relationships in which our teams are viewed as integral pieces of our clients’ businesses.      
 
HCVT operates under a hybrid working model. The Fort Worth team is seeking candidates who can work in the Fort Worth office a minimum of two days per week. 

As a Manager in our Tax service line, you will be responsible for the following:

    • Lead teams of seniors, staff accountants, and paraprofessionals in client engagements focused on all aspects of state and local income/business tax compliance and controversy matters
    • Provide top-level review of federal and multi-state income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts
    • Review related tax work papers
    • Analyze state filings across business entities/structures to eliminate/reduce errors leading to penalty and interest notices
    • Liaise with external service providers as needed on large engagements utilizing multiple tax service providers to ensure consistent filing positions and procedures
    • Manage, organize, and report on large scale state notice & refund processes
    • Research State & Local tax issues for client businesses and stay up to date on changes in tax law
    • Manage major project initiatives for clients (e.g. Pass-through Entity Tax programs)
    • Coach/mentor individual team members
    • Communicate effectively with engagement partners
    • Develop and maintains strong client relationships with client personnel and prospective clients

To be successful, these are the skills, qualities and experience you will need:

    • 5+ years of relevant experience with state and local income tax
    • Experience with taxation of “flow-through” entities is preferred, private equity experience a plus
    • Undergraduate degree; Master’s degree a plus
    • CPA license
    • Demonstrated advanced project management skills
    • Excellent research skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
