Job Posting: Lower School Division Assistant

Head-Royce School is seeking an organized Division Assistant to join our Lower School (LS) team and work closely with the Lower School Director. This position will provide office management and administrative support for our LS Director, as well as regular interface with students, parents, and faculty members. The role will assist with event planning (including division meetings, open houses, intersession, and graduation). The position will also coordinate substitutes as needed and track faculty absences and manage students attendance.

All candidates must have proven experience in an administrative assistant position with demonstrated background taking initiative and working in a fast-paced environment. A genuine fondness for working with children is a must!

    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with students and adults. 
    • Professionalism, including a positive demeanor, flexibility to respond to changing demands, meet deadlines, diplomacy, punctuality, and a solutions-oriented approach. 
    • Excellent skills in Google Suite applications in an Mac environment. 
    • Must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with staff, teachers, students, parents, and other community members.

Qualifications

    • Equivalent to at least three years of progressively responsible full-time clerical and/or administrative work experience in office administration.
    • BA/BS highly preferred. Additional equivalent experience above the minimum may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis up to a maximum of three years.
    • Exercise good judgment, initiative, and autonomy in supporting senior leaders in the Lower School.  
    • Maintain CPR and First Aid certifications (training provided)   
    • Prior experience in a school and understanding of the needs of students is a plus! 
    • Must show TB clearance in addition to providing clearance in background screening. 

Other considerations

    • Office Hours: 7:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Important to be punctual for school hours.
    • This position requires on-site work, with no remote work options available.
    • Daily work includes sitting at a desk as well as climbing stairs and coordinating end of day dismissal.
$32 - $34 an hour
