80% of clinical trials are delayed because they can’t find the patients to help; and patients don’t know how to engage with them. We’re closing that gap, using our in-house technology to match the right patients with the right trials as seamlessly as possible.

We launched in the US at the end of 2021, and have seen incredible traction since then. HealthMatch has grown to over 1 million users worldwide and has connected them to over 6,000 trials, and we are just getting started. We are backed by some of Australia’s most successful investors (Square Peg, Folklore) and are looking for driven people to continue to scale the HealthMatch platform.

This is a newly created position in the Operations team. You’ll be responsible for building out and amplifying HealthMatch’s Finance function, which is key to ensuring the rest of the business runs smoothly. We see the Financial Controller as a highly collaborative role, working closely with our leadership team, external accountants and auditors to ensure that HealthMatch’s Finance function runs smoothly and is exceptionally well-organised, ensuring that our leadership, Board and investors have high confidence in this area of the business’ operations.

To be effective as a our Financial Controller, you’ll need a few things:

    • Degree in Accounting/Finance, with a CA/CFA (or equivalent) and 7+ years experience
    • Strong accounting and analytical skillsHigh proficiency in Excel, Xero, Dext and an eye for new tools that help support efficiency and effectiveness of Finance functions
    • Great communication skills and a team-oriented mentality
    • Strong attention to detail - an ability to ‘dive into the weeds’ whilst being able to zoom out and provide strategic steers
    • Comfort working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high degree of autonomy

No single day in a high-growth startup is the same but you can expect to be doing some of the following:

    • Management accounting - collaborating and overseeing our external accountants to manage all the financial requirements of our firm day-to-day. This includes, but not limited to payroll, month-end reconciliations, ATO reporting requirements, preparing financial reports, internal financial reporting, year-end accounts, and budgeting
    • Designing, implementing & managing financial controls applicable to systems, transaction processing and reporting
    • Developing & implementing best practices, procedures and process improvements across the Finance function

    • We are a dynamic team so you may be called upon to contribute to and learn from the wider business from time to time.

    • This is a full-time role based in the HealthMatch Sydney office with flexible work from home options.
