Consumer Advocate Supervisor

This is a contract position (August through December 2020) that is 95% remote / work from home. You will have to visit our office on a few occasions to pick up equipment (e.g. computer), for onboarding, and potentially for logistics/troubleshooting. We take the health and safety of our team very seriously. On those limited occasions where you are required to be physically present, we will take extensive precautions meeting or exceeding CDC guidelines to limit any potential exposure to COVID-19.

About the Role
We are looking for individuals who are smart, responsible, quick-learning, master communicators to join our Consumer Advocate Supervisor team for a 4-month contract opportunity. You will be 95% remote, but based in Sacramento. You will need reliable internet access for the duration of the role. Joining HealthSherpa will give you the opportunity to support our mission to help people find, enroll in and use quality, affordable health coverage through the Affordable Care Act.

Your Opportunity

    • Oversee the daily activities of a team of Consumer Advocates
    • Provide performance feedback to team members
    • Perform effective coaching to address interpersonal conflicts
    • Support the team’s efforts through informed workforce management 
    • Communicate with consumers by email, and chat
    • Help consumers understand how health insurance works
    • Work with a dedicated team of professionals

Nice to have

    • Health insurance experience
    • Management experience
    • Affordable Care Act and health policy knowledge

Job Type
Full Time contract August- December 31st. While this role is 95% work from home for current health and safety reasons, we prefer that you be in the greater Sacramento region and able to travel to the central Sacramento area occasionally.
