Their offerings include farm-fresh produce, interactive activities, and exceptional farm-to-table dining, all aimed at creating cherished memories for their visitors.

We are seeking an Assistant Controller to join their team for their two locations. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the finance team in various finance and accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have experience with accounting principles and a strong desire to learn and grow in their career. Attention to detail and the ability to work accurately and efficiently are key to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide oversight and hands-on support to the accounting team, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), HST remittances, and daily bookkeeping tasks
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and budgets
Reconcile financial reports and statements to ensure accuracy and compliance
Perform monthly profit-and-loss analytics for owner's use
Prepare analytics on sales and revenue
Maintain the standardization of data
Prepare and submit applications for farm grants
Assist with payroll duties as assigned
Review and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure proper banking reconciliation, noting and investigating unusual entries as required
Prepare and send invoices to customers and pay suppliers in a timely manner
Enter and maintain financial data in Excel and other accounting software

Qualifications:
University degree
CPA Designation or working towards certification is fine
Minimum 3 years of experience in finance or accounting
Experience using QuickBooks
Strong Excel skills
Excellent critical thinking skills
Detail-oriented and highly organized
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and make recommendations based on findings
Problem-solving skills to address financial discrepancies or inefficiencies

Nice to Have:
Experience in the agritourism/agricultural industry
$80,000 - $100,000 a year
