Family Overview: This warm, outdoorsy family of four is seeking a kind and energetic nanny to support them during the summer months—and ideally return each summer. With both parents working, they’re looking for a caregiver who feels like an extension of the family: someone who is patient, structured, and genuinely invested in their preschooler’s development. The ideal candidate will create a fun, active, and enriching summer experience for their child and be available for occasional date night sitting during the school year. Their child attends a Montessori school, so experience or familiarity with Montessori principles is a plus, though not required. The family takes three short vacations each summer, and while travel is not expected, the nanny will have the option to provide pet sitting for their friendly dog during these trips.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a nurturing, safe, and engaging environment for the child
- Plan and lead developmentally appropriate activities that support emotional, cognitive, and physical growth
- Establish a fun, consistent daily routine for the preschooler
- Support daily needs including preparing meals and snacks for the child
- Encourage independence and utilize positive, respectful discipline techniques
- Maintain open, consistent communication with parents through daily updates and check-ins
- Tidy up after yourself and clean up any messes related to the child (e.g., putting away dishes after meals)
- No household chores or driving duties required
$18 - $20 an hour
Qualifications:
Childcare or nanny experience required, working with preschool-aged children is a plus
CPR and First Aid certified (must be current)
Valid driver’s license
Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Strong, verifiable references from previous nanny or childcare positions
Must pass a comprehensive background check
Non-smoker
Experience or familiarity with Montessori methods is a plus, but not required
Comfortable around dogs and open to pet sitting during family vacations (optional)
