Hello Neighbor is seeking an Employment Case Aide who will support the efforts of the Resettlement Team as they welcome Pittsburgh’s newest neighbors.

Founded in 2017, Hello Neighbor works to improve the lives of recently resettled refugee families by matching them with dedicated neighbors to guide and support them in their new lives. 2023 marks our 5th year of operation and our first with a $3 million budget. We have an ambitious year of anniversary activations planned and are excited to post this newly created position to join the team and hit the ground running.

The Employment Case Aide will support the Employment Coordinators across Hello Neighbor's employment and job development programs.

This is an in-house position at our Pittsburgh, PA office in Larimer. We are currently on a hybrid return-to-work and in the office on Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays. We require COVID-19 vaccination and a booster for full-time employees.

Reports To: Director of Refugee Resettlement

Key Responsibilities

    • (1) Refugee Support Services:
    • Assists the Employment Team with documentation and preparation for intakes and service planning.
    • Supports case management and employment services for a client’s post 90 day period in the United States, up to 5 years. 
    • Provides bus orientation for clients beginning new jobs. This will also include directions for new medical appointments and any orientation that contributes to self-sufficiency. 
    • Aid the Employment Team with supportive services provided during office hours like rental payments, mail, question and answer and applications. 
    • Help the Employment Team with resume creation.
    • Supports Employment Coordinators with job search. 
    • Coordinates pre and post employment training by scheduling office space, interpreters, and calling families. 
    • Helps clients to reach their goals, address challenges and utilize available resources.

    • (2) Administrative:
    • Provide timely, detailed case notes for all employment and case management services.
    • Supports the Employment Team with timely, accurate case note documentation and updates client files and records weekly.

Preferred Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or equivalent education
    • Requires 1 years of related and/or applicable work experience and a demonstrated ability to effectively work with refugee and immigrant communities
    • Willingness to work in a fast paced, multicultural environment.
    • Car, valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
    • Willingness to transport families in your own personal vehicle
    • Alignment with and support of Hello Neighbor’s core values
    • Flexibility and ability to work nights and weekends as needed
    • Experience with GSuite is a plus.
