Full-time /
Hello Neighbor is seeking an Employment Coordinator who will support participants in the Matching Grant (MG) Program. The MG program assists qualifying refugee and immigrant individuals and families to achieve early economic self-sufficiency through employment. The Matching Grant program serves as an alternative to public cash assistance (TANF/RCA) and supplies participants with six months of MG Cash Assistance and short-term rental assistance as they seek employment.

The Employment Coordinator will manage a caseload of ORR (Office of Refugee Resettlement)-eligible individuals and families, including refugees, asylees, and other qualifying populations. The Employment Coordinator will lead all aspects of program enrollment and case management, with emphasis on placing employable adults in jobs and assisting households to overcome any barriers to employment through referrals and other supportive services. This role reports to the Employment Supervisor and will be supported by an Employment Case Aide and collaboration from other Hello Neighbor team members.

The Employment Coordinator is responsible for evaluating and coordinating the services the Matching Grant program and Employment team will provide to meet each client’s unique economic need, including employment counseling, job search assistance, transportation coordination, and more. Additionally, the Employment Coordinator works closely with area employers to develop relationships that will benefit program clients, increase education for employers about inclusive and culturally competent hiring practices, and improve employment situations for refugee job seekers. This is a vital programmatic role, and assists program participants in their goals of achieving financial security in their new homes.

Founded in 2017, Hello Neighbor works to improve the lives of recently resettled refugee families by matching them with dedicated neighbors to guide and support them in their new home. We’ve expanded from our mentorship program to now include refugee resettlement services, family service programs, a national program supporting other refugee and immigrant nonprofits around the country.
