Hello Neighbor’s Internship Program

Hello Neighbor has a robust internship program across multiple departments of the organization. We deeply value intern contributions and our internships are open to individuals from all backgrounds, students or otherwise, we hope you will consider submitting an application for either our Americorps postings or standard internship postings.

All internships have the following requirements:
-Contribution to a joint-intern project/event
-Attend Hello Neighbor all-hands meetings, key events, regular intern meetings
-Provide final presentation at conclusion of internship
-Spring start date: ASAP
-Summer start date: late May

Refugee Employment Intern
Support our Employment programs through administrative and programming support, as well as through some direct client services dependent on experience. Training is provided. Here are some examples of tasks you may be assigned: 
-Help create / revise programming
-Help with program logistics (set up, outreach, coordinating transportation, creating flyers)
-Help with filing / organizing case notes and other documentationHelp with communications, reminders, and organization
-Compile a weekly list of entry-level employment opportunities
-Call employers to inquire about job requirements
-Possibly help orchestrate hiring events

Refugee Resettlement Intern
-Support our Reception & Placement program for newly arrived refugee families and support them in their first 90 days in the United States. Training will be provided. Here are some tasks you may be assigned:
-Help with case noting, receipt tracking and other admin-related tasks
-Providing bus orientations to newly arrived families
-Supporting housing set-ups for new families
-Ordering supplies necessary for newly arrive families 
-Packaging supplies for clients
-Support for programming and other logistics 

Requirements
-Duration: See start dates above, with potential extension opportunities. The role requires 8-12 hours per week for spring and potential for 16-20 hours in summer.
-Location: The position offers a hybrid or in-person structure and may entail travel to the office at 6587 Hamilton Ave. between Tuesday and Thursday, depending on the candidate's location and organizational needs.
-Compensation: Interns will be compensated at $10/hour and may explore opportunities for college credits.
