So what will you be doing all day? You would join us as a Pre-Construction Manager working on things like...
- Represent Henderson Building Solutions in initial discussions with client/owner
- Formulate preconstruction services proposal for initial approval of project development
- Lead the project team in preliminary scope development activities, including:
- Reviewing original problem statement
- Conducting site visits
- Observe and troubleshoot issues onsite
- Formulate recommendations to satisfy problem statement
- Develop conceptual design schematics to communicate to Client and Sub parties
- Formulate budget aligned with recommendations
- Assist in the completion of preliminary schedule
- Formulate and deliver Design-Build proposals
- Assist in Prime and Sub Contract negotiations
- Plan and execute a Buyout Strategy for awarded projects
- Lead the subcontractor and vendor solicitation procedures
- Evaluate subcontractor responses and lead the selection process
- Participate in a team environment with Construction Management, Engineering, Subcontractor and Vendor throughout the Design-Assist process to maintain scope, budget, and schedule
- Assist in project implementation activities throughout the construction, commissioning, and closeout phases

- Have a background in mechanical engineering, with relative familiarity in related disciplines (electrical + plumbing).
- Possess at least 3-5+ years' experience with HVAC design and/or construction. Experience in both areas a plus.
- o Central chilled water (water and air cooled), steam, hydronic heat, VAV/CV air handling equipment, DX, etc.
- o Experience in multiple vertical market sectors
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of construction or engineering preferred. Common examples include Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Science, Construction Engineering, and Construction Management.
- Ability to apply pragmatic thought processes to solve complicated issues
- Advanced proficiency in technical knowledge, the industry, codes, and standards relating to a limited range of practice, project, or program types
- Familiarity with estimating software platforms
- Experience formulating comprehensive conceptual budgets
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment, considering input from multiple internal and external stakeholders to identify solutions
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Intermediate financial acumen
- Understanding of client motivators, and ability to identify solutions best meeting objectives
- Valid driver’s license
- Advanced proficiency in technical knowledge, the industry, codes, and standards relating to a limited range of practice, project, or program types
- Proficient Microsoft Office skills specifically within Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Adapts to changing work environments, work priorities and organizational needs
- Generates ideas for improvement, takes advantage of opportunities, suggests innovations
- Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
- Ability to identify and understand relevant emerging technologies and industry trends
- Must be a self-starter, proactive and help others when needed
- Ability to travel 25% of the time
Anticipated salary range for this position may be $65,000 - $95,000
Salary may be higher or lower than the stated range depending on factors unrelated to the applicant’s race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, ethnicity, age, or disability. Salary can vary from this range based on geographic cost of labor statistical differentials.
