Position Overview
We are seeking a Junior-Level Creative Design & UX professional to join our growing team at henon.ai. As a Designer at Henon, you will play a key role in UI/UX design, creating intuitive and user-friendly interfaces for our SaaS platform. This role is remote-first, with the candidate required to be based in Toronto. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creativity and solving problems, and the ability to work independently and efficiently. In addition to UX/UI design, the designer may also contribute to marketing assets, reports, web design, or other projects that require original designs and creative solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design intuitive, user-friendly interfaces for web-based applications
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using Figma (or similar tools)
- Collaborate with product management and engineering to define and refine requirements
- Maintain and expand our design system and UX standards while advocating for best practices in UI/UX across the organization
- A passion for feedback, actively seeking it out, while being comfortable defending your designs when necessary
- The ability to effectively communicate design concepts to designers, developers, and other stakeholders
- Championing accessible design and ensuring your designs meet WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 Level A & AA compliance
$65,000 - $95,000 a year
Base compensation + Options grant in addition to the base salary to commensurate with experience.
Qualifications
· Strong portfolio demonstrating product and web application design
· Proficiency with Figma, Adobe applications, Affinity software, Webflow, or other comparable design tools
· Solid understanding of UX principles, responsive design, and interaction design
· Excellent communication and time management skills
· Ability to work independently and proactively in a remote setting
· Residency in Toronto (required)
· Communicative, with a positive attitude toward customers and colleagues
· A strong sense of responsibility, autonomy, and resourcefulness
· Team-oriented, organized, and focused on delivering quality results
· Capable of coordinating and managing multiple tasks simultaneously
· Proactive in identifying challenges and proposing solutions
