SUMMARY  

The Delivery Driver Supervisor is an hourly supervisory position within the HERBL warehouse. The Supervisor is responsible for setting schedules and managing work teams to meet operational performance metrics for safety, productivity, and customer service. They maintain excellent verbal and written communication between their peers and cross-functional partners throughout the company. They set daily and weekly performance targets and prioritizes tasks and assignments for the delivery drivers they oversee.  

SUPERVISORY DUTIES

    • Coordinates communication with drivers and manages the vehicle pipeline for both scheduled maintenance (including cleaning)  and repairs of vehicles 
    • Assists Fleet Manager with coordinating Driver meetings, training, and communication 
    • Maintain ongoing knowledge and compliance with rules and regulations for Cannabis Transport and Dept of Transportation and law enforcement 
    • Operate forklift, Wave, and other materials handling equipment to pick, store and stage materials 
    • Review paperwork and counts to ensure accuracy 
    • Perform other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall operations 
    • Report hours of service accurately. 
    • Maintain constructive working relationships  
    • Attend and participate in safety and team meetings 
    • Maintain and protect all company property entrusted to you in excellent condition. 

DRIVER DUTIES

    • Assist with vehicle loading and ensure inventory matches delivery requirements   
    • Maintain ongoing knowledge and compliance with rules and regulations for Cannabis Transport and Dept of Transportation and law enforcement  
    • Drive Safely, and defensively  
    • Always keep vehicle clean, presentable, organized, and functional. 
    • Preform per and post trip inspections. Report any signs of wear and tear or performance issues that could require maintenance or service. 
    • Accurately complete deliveries making sure product and manifest are reconciled. 
    • Scan or write in confirmation upon delivery  
    • Maintain contact with HERBL dispatcher throughout the route at every stop  
    • Collect payments according to HERBL Accounting instructions     
    • Follow all company and state enforced safety requirements for loading and unloading. 
    • Maintain vigilant awareness of surrounding. Protect yourself and HERBL property by maintaining attentiveness to the vehicle and tasks at hand. Avoid distractions  
    • Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and handling customer complaints quickly, professionally and with a positive demeanor.  
    • Provide feedback on behalf of customers for continuous improvement of HERBL polices and procedure

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is mostly spent driving so long periods of sitting is required. Time outside of driving will be spent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing.  
    • The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Must be at least 25 years of age 
    • 1-2 years prior warehouse operations or similar experience 
    • 1-2 years management or supervisory experience 
    • 1-2 years experience as a delivery driver. 
    • Valid Class A/B driver’s license required or be willing to obtain. 
    • Have a clean driving record with no moving violations 
    • High School Diploma and equivalent work experience 
    • Cannabis experience a plus

HOURS:

    • This is a full-time position. Normal Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Normal shifts are between 10 – 12 hours. Occasional evening and weekend work. Some routes may require driver to spend occasional nights way from home.
