The Hermeus Security team is responsible for day-to-day security operations across the corporation enterprise.  

Hermeus is seeking a Security Specialist (IC1) to join our team in Los Angeles. This role is perfect for someone with an active clearance and an administrative or HR background who’s eager to grow into a career in security. You’ll be the first point of contact at the front desk, support day-to-day security operations, and help the team with documentation, briefings, and compliance processes. We are looking for someone detail-oriented, personable, and proactive, who thrives in an office environment and enjoys balancing administrative and security-related responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

    • Greet visitors and manage front desk access control, ensuring compliance with security protocols.
    • Support the security team with administrative tasks, including policy documentation, scheduling, and record-keeping.
    • Assist with security briefings and visitor escorting.
    • Prepare professional reports, presentations, and documentation (PowerPoint expertise strongly valued).
    • Monitor and track security-related requests or issues through Jira or other ticketing systems.
    • Partner with HR, facilities, and leadership on cross-functional tasks tied to security and compliance.
    • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Minimum Requirements:

    • Active Top Secret security clearance is required. 
    • 0–1 year of relevant experience in security, administration, HR, or a related field.
    • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills—comfortable as the friendly first point of contact.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially PowerPoint); ability to produce polished, visually effective presentations.
    • A desire to learn and grow into broader security responsibilities over time.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

    • Experience with Jira or other ticketing systems.
    • Experience with Airtable and Traction visitor management system.
    • Basic familiarity with NISPOM, DCSA, or other federal security requirements.
    • Experience helping with visitor logs, access badges, or compliance documentation.
    • Prior exposure to handling sensitive or confidential information in an office or HR setting.
    • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
    • Strong written communication skills for drafting or polishing documents.
    • A customer service mindset—balancing professionalism with approachability.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

$72,000 - $88,000 a year
