Utilizing an iterative development approach to aircraft, Hermeus’ high-Mach and hypersonic aircraft aim to deliver capabilities at a pace not seen in the U.S. since the 1950s.

We are currently seeking a motivated Platform Engineer/Technician to join the Mission Systems Engineering team at Hermeus!

Responsibilities

    • Build, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair Ground Control Stations.
    • Install, configure, and maintain flight critical IT systems, communication tools, and mission-enhancing hardware/software.
    • Install, configure, and maintain pilot-in-the-loop cockpits for Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPAs).
    • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of mission systems.

Basic Qualifications

    • Engineer: Bachelor’s Degree and 3+ years in aircraft avionics, RF integration, or ground station maintenance. 
    • Technician: 5+ years in aircraft avionics, RF integration, or ground station maintenance.
    • Proficient with common avionics/RF tools such as multimeters, insulation resistance meters, spectrum analyzers, cannon-plug tools, oscilloscopes, etc. 
    • Proficient in basic electronics maintenance and repair. 
    • Proficient in the soldering of RF coaxial connectors. 
    • Working knowledge of IT infrastructure components such as Ethernet, switches, routers, and servers. 
    • Familiarity with command-and-control concepts, strong problem-solving and diagnostics ability, and a team-first mentality.
    • Comfortable reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, and working with electronics.
    • Proficient in building aerospace-grade cable/harness assemblies (D38999 and similar)
    • Ability and desire to travel for several weeks at a time to work on-location with the Ground Control Station at various military bases and airports.
    • Able to lift heavy gear and thrive in hands-on environments.
    • Ability to operate heavy equipment such as a forklift or scissor lift for installing/maintaining/troubleshooting RF hardware. 
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and associated Office suite of tools: Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams. 
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. 

Preferred Qualifications

    • 10+ years' experience integrating, troubleshooting, and maintaining complex aerospace RF/SATCOM/IT systems. 
    • Proficiency in Linux. 
    • Proficient in basic computer networking. 
    • Prior experience maintaining operational RPA GCS’s. 
    • Certifications such as CCNA and Security+.
