As the Operations Supervisor, you’re the extreme owner of safety and quality standards across the various production teams. You are driven to deliver new technologies effortlessly through structured training programs, collaboration with engineering to simplify tooling and processes, and building the right capabilities and capacity across your team to meet schedule needs. You champion accountability through personal exemplary character and make it clear it’s ok to make mistakes as long as we drive towards solutions. You deliver on critical feedback, both to peers, directs, and leadership in the business to address personal and professional issues at Hermeus. You don’t stand for anyone saying, “That’s not my job”, and help constructively drive peers, directs, or leadership to understand the problem, team’s needs, and bigger-picture impact of engaging or disengaging challenges. You maintainhigh expectations for your peers and clearly communicate cross-functionally when expectations aren’t being met. You are a skilled conflict-resolver and seek to build bridges in the business.
This role supports a Fluids team and an Avionics team.
Responsibilities
- Own safety standards in the area and ensure total team compliance to OSHA and Hermeus safety requirements through collaboration with EHS and technical experts
- Develop and standardize build-specific trainings (IE: High Voltage, Forklift, Caustic Material Handling, Rigging, etc.) and ensure they meet OSHA standards and are internally tracked (with partner orgs)
- Be the steward of good quality and traceability in the area – ensure compliance to established processes for kitting and processing work orders and develop/publish specifications and standards for sustaining the business (pull people in where needed)
- Establish Daily and Weekly targets for the team and disseminate assignments with support from the team lead
- Identify and address potential labor or asset constraints at least two weeks in advance and escalate when support is needed
- Remove blockers for the team to execute work, including but not limited to…
- Develop and own the metrics for team success in the area
- Participate in development of ROI for new assets/CapEx in the area, this could be new welding equipment, drills, rivet guns, testing dc torque tool technology, etc.
- Collaborate with Quality/Reliability on reviewing NCR landscape and own further actions associated with production processes (within scope) or any training needs
- Actively holding engineering peers accountable to dispositioning hardware as applicable
- Working with facilities to introduce improved drops, systems, or quality of life fixes
- Escalating to leadership where capacity is failing
- Procuring relevant tooling to unblock availability as a constraint
Minimum Requirements:
- 4+ Years Experience in Aerospace Manufacturing or 6+ Years in Other Manufacturing
- Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
- Proactive attitude that biases towards towards action
- Support weekends and nights as needed
- Experience manufacturing match drilled components and/or large format component integration
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant engineering field (mechanical, chemical, electrical, etc.)
- Capability to generate code with SQL, Python, C#, or other coding languages
- Experience in a hardware-centric start-up environment
- Hands-on fluidics or avionics experience
- Understanding of industry standard specifications
- Experience with P&ID’s, Routing Diagrams, and/or Machined Component Drawings
- Experience with high pressure testing
- Experience with high voltage testing
