As the leading telemedicine abortion provider in the US, we’re looking for a passionate and proactive Community Engagement Assistant to support our work in a part-time, contract basis. Think: An empathetic-but-eloquent communicator who is terminally online, understands how to build community through social media engagement, lives for the comments section, and is enthusiastic about expanding abortion access.
As a Community Engagement Assistant you will be supporting Hey Jane in building our network of supporters and reaching even more people who may be seeking out information about reproductive and sexual health care. Your work will include responding to comments, messages, and mentions on social media, monitoring and identifying opportunities to engage with key social media accounts, maintaining and updating our influencer list, and assisting in seeding fulfillment.
This is a part-time, fully remote contract position, and you must be reachable and available to work two hours/day (M-F).
You are:
- An excellent communicator with community management experience for a brand or organization
- Adept at understanding social media platforms and their best practices
- On top of the virtual conversations of the day—and thoughtful about how to authentically tap into them
- Experienced in influencer research and outreach
- A self-starter who can manage multiple tasks simultaneously and hit deadlines
- Available to work independently ~2 hours/day M-F
- Passionate about reproductive and sexual health care—including abortion care—and excited to get out the message during this pivotal moment!
You will:
- Work directly with Hey Jane’s Head of Brand Marketing and Social Media Manager to foster a positive and active community environment by engaging across various social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, etc.)
- Embody the Hey Jane voice while responding to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and professional manner
- Monitor real-time conversations on social media and identify opportunities to authentically participate in them
- Research relevant influencer partners, support outreach to build these relationships, and maintain influencer lists
- Coordinate and manage the packing and shipping of seeding kits to influencers and community members
