Rowan’s SVP, of Human Resources, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, will lead our Human Resources department. This role will be instrumental in sculpting and executing HR strategies needed to create an excellent workforce across our store network, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and helping the company scale with its most valuable resource: people. The SVP, Human Resources candidate will embody a "roll up the sleeves" and "can do" attitude, actively engaging in hands-on leadership to navigate the complexities of our rapidly scaling company.

What you'll do:

    • Develop and implement field-focused HR strategies and policies that align with and propel the company’s strategic business goals, fostering organizational growth and employee development.
    • Strategically oversee the entire talent lifecycle for our nurses and sales team, from recruitment to offboarding, leveraging a data-driven approach to identify trends and formulate strategies that enhance performance, retention, and engagement.
    • Manage employee relations and performance management challenges, creating a supportive and high-performing work environment.
    • Craft and implement programs that increase retention of our top field employees and amplify the company culture throughout the employee journey, ensuring a consistently positive experience from hire to retire.
    • Execute Annual Performance Review process, ensuring it aligns with compensation strategies and organizational objectives at all levels within Rowan.
    • Enforce our HR policies and adapt on a state by state basis where necessary to ensure strict compliance with local, state, and federal laws, maintaining the integrity of all HR programs.
    • Continuously monitor and interpret employment legislation, the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and other essential regulations, applying this expertise to ensure organizational compliance and risk mitigation.
    • Ensure our documentation continues to align with government contracts and regulatory requirements, ensuring organizational integrity.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for HR initiatives, masterfully orchestrating resources, overseeing budget allocations, and leading strategic enhancements for the company's benefit.
    • Must be willing to engage as a hands-on leader to navigate the complexities of our rapidly scaling company and to assist in the development and implementation of innovative HR strategies that support our growing workforce.

What you bring to the table:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
    • Law degree with experience in employment law is a plus
    • Over 10 years of progressive HR management experience, ideally in fast-growing startups or dynamic scaling environments, with a demonstrated ability to assemble and nurture high-performing teams.
    • Minimum of 7 years' experience in leading HR functions across distributed teams and establishing robust multi-city operations.
    • 3-5 years of working in varying levels of HR roles within a Retail organization.
    • Entrepreneurial spirit, with a drive to get into the details in support of the business as it rapidly scales.
    • Demonstrated effectiveness in championing initiatives and securing organizational support for new programs.
    • Exceptional time management capabilities, consistently meeting or surpassing project deadlines.
    • Proven track record in managing HR operations across various geographical locations.
    • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with a knack for fostering cross-functional collaborations.
    • Skilled in linking HR outcomes to broader business objectives, enhancing organizational performance.
    • Advanced problem-solving abilities, adept at identifying and resolving complex issues.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, coupled with outstanding interpersonal abilities.
    • Remarkable attention to detail, along with superior organizational and time management skills, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in all tasks.
    • Proven ability to manage and prioritize a diverse set of tasks in a high-energy environment.
    • Thrives under pressure, demonstrating resilience and adaptability in fast-paced settings.
    • Strong capability to work autonomously while being an effective team player, contributing to a collaborative work environment.

This is a salaried position ranging from $200,000-225,000, with opportunity for a bonus.
