Highland Electric Fleets is a comprehensive turnkey solutions provider that delivers electric school buses (EVSB) to school districts and third-party managed fleet providers (3PMs).

We offer a model involving financing, infrastructure, vehicle deployment, and maintenance in an easily digestible, economic format that enables EVSB acquisition at traditional diesel cost of ownership.

Responsibilities

    • Establish project engineering and design specifications and best practices
    • Support creation of construction standards for electrical, civil, structural, and communication disciplines
    • Develop a standard for project engineering package content and structure
    • Interpret technical requirements and develop repository of utility and AHJ designs 
    • Create conceptual site plans and supporting engineering documentation
    • Provide technical guidance for project estimating activitiesSupport the evaluation and selection of engineering consultants and contractors
    • Support the evaluation and selection of contractor proposals
    • Review and approve schematic, design, permitting, and construction packages
    • Address technical inquiries from customer, utility, and jurisdictions
    • Support the evaluation of new equipment and software applications
    • Establish preferred engineering consultant network program

Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline (electrical and civil preferred)
    • 3-5+ years experience in project-based design management (renewable energy, EV charging infrastructure, power grids desirable)
    • 1+ years of EV charging infrastructure project design specific experience
    • 2+ years of construction project design specification development and management
    • 3+ years of managing third party engineering consultants
    • 3+ years of creating, editing, and commenting in CAD toolsFamiliarity with software solutions (Bluebeam, AutoCAD, ETAP, AutoDrive)
