Highland Electric Fleets is a comprehensive turnkey solutions provider that delivers electric school buses (EVSB) to school districts and third-party managed fleet providers (3PMs).

We offer a model involving financing, infrastructure, vehicle deployment, and maintenance in an easily digestible, economic format that enables EVSB acquisition at traditional diesel cost of ownership.

We aim to mitigate risk for our customers, increase EVSB market penetration, and deliver positive impacts across a broad spectrum of stakeholders: students, communities, school districts, fleet operators, manufacturers, and utilities.

This individual will play an integral role in data analysis, research, and organization, as well as supporting regional market development efforts. This individual will support a team that conducts market research and helps the leadership team design the go-to-market strategy for the company. They will also support a growing regional team (with an emphasis on the western U.S. states) to cover market development activities, including policy advocacy, market education, and community stakeholder engagement. This individual will also work with the market development team to evaluate new states, devise strategies for approaching different state markets, and advocate for well-justified policy changes to enable market entrance or expansion.

Responsibilities:

    • Support management and analysis of company-wide vehicle, customer, and market data.
    • Support development of go-to-market strategies leveraging that market data.
    • Help facilitate data sharing initiatives with advocates and partner organizations within the Highland network and assist with data and analysis for potential grant applicant targeting and award analysis.
    • Support efforts to gather, organize, and analyze data on potential new vehicle markets, coordinating with the Business Development team.
    • Support the Regional team’s work with various school, business, local government, and community organizations throughout the region, including supporting strategies/campaigns designed to mobilize stakeholders within and around a school district to encourage a school district to electrify its bus fleet.
    • Research school districts and their stakeholders to understand the decision-making dynamics around EVSB procurement.
    • Plan and coordinate events and Highland’s participation in events.

Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree with 2-3 years of experience. Quantitative background and/or experience with community organizing, political campaigns, or policy advocacy. Transportation electrification, clean technology, or climate focus is a plus.

    • Strong persuasive and analytical writing skills
    • Strong quantitative analytical skills 
    • Motivated self-starter with ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work within the parameters of a gated and deadline driven environment.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Strong time-management, planning, and organizational skills
    • Background in environmental science and/or policy, or similar field
    • Passion for working in community organizing, advocacy, communications, public affairs, and/or policy.
    • Interest or prior knowledge of electric vehicles, clean transportation, clean energy, or similar High attention to detail
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel
    • Some computer science, data analysis, or coding background a plus
