Summary:
The Manager, Strategic Transactions would support a team of Finance professionals who source financing for electrification-as-a-service projects and execute on corporate development initiatives.

The position requires an individual who thrives in a fast-paced, unstructured environment, constantly collaborating with various internal and external teams to meet transaction deadlines.

The individual would ultimately be responsible for managing day-to-day negotiation and execution of these transactions and performing analyses on the market and our competitors to inform the business on financing and strategy.

Transaction Leadership Responsibilities:

    • Lead various aspects of these transactions, including but not limited to: Investor sourcing and outreach, Deal financial structuring and optimization, Due diligence, Term sheet and transaction document negotiation, Data room management, Closing deliverables and process
    • Manage complex corporate and project financial pro forma models to support corporate financing and specialty financial transactions, including but not limited to, asset-backed financing, securitizations/ABS, or municipal leasing.
    • Support and lead marketing of Highland’s capital structure to outside parties, interacting with banks and investors, and infrastructure funds, as well as rating agencies
    • Manage external parties, such as bankers and consultants
    • Preparation and delivery of materials for Investment Committee review and approval

Project Analysis Responsibilities:

    • Conduct financial analyses of new markets, opportunities, and competitors
    • Assist cross functional teams in evaluation of strategic opportunities
    • Understand the various inputs to Highland’s model, working closely with cross-functional experts in various functional groups such as Origination and Fleet Operations 
    • Macroeconomic analysis, including impacts of tax law change, interest rate environments, and broader sector trends

Cross-Functional Support and Collaboration Responsibilities:

    • Support other functional areas in ways such as: Grant applications, FP&A forecasting and Market strategy

Qualifications

    • Minimum ~5 years in Securitization/ABS, Tax Exempt Financing, P3 Financing, Transportation/Automotive, Capital Markets, or related field. Preference will be given for securitization and/or municipal leasing experience
    • Previous investment banking, structured finance, government financing, or similar experience
    • Finance, economics, engineering, or similar degree
    • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel, including experience with financial modeling
    • Candidates will be expected to provide and speak to a list of deals they have worked on and may be required to complete a financial modeling test
    • Experience managing large projects with multiple stakeholders on tight timelines
    • Ability to present complex information succinctly and efficiently to audiences internal and external, including financing counterparties
$145,000 - $155,000 a year
