High Point Aerotechnologies, a leading provider of solutions for military and commercial anti-UAS programs, is seeking a proactive and security-conscious Help Desk Technician to join our team on site in Boise, Idaho, where you'll play a crucial role in providing frontline support for both Windows and Ubuntu Linux users.

Your primary responsibilities will include troubleshooting system issues, diagnosing hardware malfunctions, and user management within a hybrid Microsoft 365 environment. Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Provide technical support to end-users via phone, email, or in person, addressing issues related to operating systems, software applications, and hardware peripherals.
    • Diagnose and resolving system problems such as software errors, network connectivity issues, and hardware failures on both Windows and Ubuntu Linux platforms.
    • Assist users with software installation, configuration, and updates, ensuring compatibility and adherence to organizational policies.
    • Collaborate with other IT resources to escalate complex issues, implement system upgrades, and deploy new technologies in alignment with business objectives.
    • Conduct user training sessions and providing technical guidance to promote efficient and effective use of IT resources across the organization.
    • Stay informed about emerging technologies, industry best practices, and security threats to proactively address potential risks and enhance system performance and security.

Required Skills & Abilities

    • Proficiency with both Windows 11 and Ubuntu Linux.
    • Exposure to Microsoft365 and Microsoft Azure administration, including user management, management of virtual machines, server deployments, and configuration of Intune policies.
    • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines under minimal supervision.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
    • Strong “costumer first” attitude.
    • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
    • Ability to successfully pass a background investigation and obtain a security clearance if required.

Education and Experience

    • High school diploma, or equivalent.
    • At least two years of Help Desk level experience in a multi-OS environment (Windows 11 and Ubuntu Linux) is preferred.
    • Experience with Microsoft365 user and device management.
    • Experience working within the Defense Industrial Base preferred, but not required.
    • Current IT or Information Security certifications preferred (i.e., CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, MS-900 Microsoft 365 Fundamentals, etc.). 

Physical Requirements

    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer.
    • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds. 

Other Requirements

    • It is an essential requirement for the person in this role to have a legal right to work in the United States and be eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization and DoD Clearance.

Travel Requirements

    • Travel expected up to 25% based on needs of the Information Technology Team.
$20 - $31.64 an hour
