We’re looking for a self-motivated and detail-oriented Email Deliverability & Compliance Program Manager to join our rapidly-growing product engineering team. This person will tackle a wide variety of projects focused on driving email delivery success as Highspot grows its customer base. The right candidate for this role will have deep domain expertise, thrive in ambiguous problem spaces and will be adept at creating detailed project plans, getting stakeholder alignment, and executing without authority. 

What You'll Do

    • Implement and manage email delivery monitoring; create plans to improve email deliverability of customer- and product-initiated emails
    • Monitor and manage IP and domain reputation to ensure maximum email deliverability 
    • Partner with cross-functional teams to prioritize and execute on improvements to Highspot’s email system
    • Partner with software engineers and security experts to define system requirements, guide development, and continuously drive improvements of the email delivery component of the service
    • Distill the needs of internal customers and stakeholders and use this information to inform project and process strategy
    • Triage and drive resolutions for all email-related issues 
    • Anticipate and resolve risks and roadblocks to ensure projects are completed on time 
    • Communicate project plan and project status at multiple levels of the organization
    • Establish KPIs to measure email system efficacy and drive measurable improvement to system
    • Optimize cross-functional processes to meet the scaling organization’s needs
    • Identify incidents and negative trends and collaborate with Engineering and Security teams to quickly resolve them
    • Be a Subject Matter Expert for Engineering, Legal, Security, and occasionally Marketing, on how to structure policies, procedures, and tooling related to email-dependent systems
    • Ensure Highspot is on top of the latest compliance and deliverability trends, technologies, and strategies by engaging with industry experts and organizations (this may also include representing Highspot externally with industry groups) 
    • Implement and lead Highspot’s email compliance program including compliance with international policies and regulations

Your Background

    • 3+ years of work experience in an analytic, data-driven email deliverability role dealing with transactional email
    • Knowledge of the SMTP protocol, mail servers, and a prior knowledge of ISP procedures (feedback loops, postmaster pages, etc.)
    • Deep expertise on authentication protocols (e.g., DKIM, SPF, DMARC), bounce categorization and handling, and spam regulations like CAN-SPAM and CASL
    • Expert-level knowledge of some third-party delivery tools like SendGrid and Marketo and testing and analysis tools like Email on Acid, Litmus, Return Path, 250OK, and SNDS
    • Excellent at interfacing and building trust with internal and external partners and a strong desire to help them succeed
    • Demonstrated ability to translate email deliverability issues into product specifications and drive implementation with the engineering team
    • Adept at mining large data sets using database query languages and analytics/visualization tools
    • Ability to identify, prioritize, and successfully execute multiple competing priorities
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong problem solving and organizational skills
