About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled India based Director, Accounting and Financial Operations who excels at both strategic leadership and hands-on execution. This role will report to the Senior Director of Accounting and Tax and will collaborate closely with Global Accounting and Financial Operations and Highspot India Leaders. You will lead our India-based Accounting and Financial Operations Center of Excellence and be responsible for overseeing all activities while also leading cross-functional teams in finance and procurement. This position requires deep expertise in US GAAP, IFRS and Indian GAAP along with a proven track record of building high-performing, Indian-based teams that align with the strategic objectives of a US parent company.
Responsibilities
- Own and execute the strategy and vision of our Centers of Excellence (COE) of our India Accounting and FinOps team leading and managing the end-to end processes based out of India supporting the Company’s global needs.
- Collaborate with senior leadership in the US and IN to define and execute strategic financial initiatives, ensuring global alignment.
- Oversee core accounting functions (AP, AR, payroll, general accounting ops) performed in India ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with timely, accurate financial statements aligned with US GAAP, IFRS, and Indian GAAP.
- Implement and maintain internal controls, financial processes, and policies in accordance with both US GAAP, IFRS, and Indian GAAP standards.
- Provide leadership and management to teams in finance, and procurement, fostering collaboration and integrating these functions into the broader COE framework.
- Ensure each function operates with clear objectives, robust processes, and alignment with the Company’s strategic goals.
- Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing team, embedding a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities for process and system enhancements, process automation to support scalable growth, leveraging IT to streamline workflows and reporting.
- Serve as the primary contact for all finance and accounting matters in India, regularly communicating with US-based leadership regarding progress, challenges, and strategic opportunities.
- Provide actionable insights to senior executives, guiding financial planning and resource allocation decisions to meet organizational objectives.
- Champion a collaborative and inclusive team culture, promoting knowledge-sharing and cross-functional partnerships.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of highly relevant post qualification experience in a fast paced work environment
- 5+ years of experience in a senior leadership role, overseeing teams and strategic initiatives at a US based multinational company
- Chartered Accountant or Certified Public Accountant Designation is a required
- Prior experience in fostering structured engagement between local and US global offices is required.
- Demonstrated success in building and managing accounting teams for a US parent company, with hands-on experience in US GAAP, IFRS, and Indian GAAP.
- Strategic mindset, process-oriented, collaborative, adaptive and agile
- Proficiency in NetSuite and financial operations systems and tools in AP, AR, Procurement, and Payroll.
- Deep understanding of financial reporting systems and automation solutions in a high-growth environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of influencing stakeholders across functions and geographies.
- Ability to work effectively across time zones, with strong communication skills in English (verbal and written).
