Salary: $54,265 - $62,331 (Framework C, Step 39)

HTH seeks a Staff Accountant to provide critical accounting and analytical support.
 
JOB SUMMARY
 
The Staff Accountant will support staff across High Tech High’s regional office and schools. The Staff Accountant is accountable for helping to plan and to execute process improvement strategies, upholding compliance with regulatory and locally-created processes and procedures, and providing a high level of customer service to staff and external parties. Work consists of both routine and non-routine administrative accounting work performed using general procedures and processes.
 
Duties include:
 
●      Oversee the cash management process for school and central office cash collection, including fundraising tracking, cash reconciliation, and bank account reconciliation.
●      Provide ongoing cash reconciliation to High Tech High management and affiliate management, including High Tech High Foundation, and school-based Parent Associations.
●       Assist with donor and grant management, including grant and in-kind donation tracking, donor portal management, and donor recognition.
●      Prepare journal entries to input into the accounting system.
●      Support maintenance and reconciliation of corporate purchasing card accounts.
●      Assist with month-end and quarter-end close processes and completion of close checklists.
●      Assist with year-end closing and help coordinate audit information.
●      Assist with development of accounting procedures to create efficiency for the organization.
●      Ensure compliance with applicable California Department of Education and fund accounting requirements.
●      Other projects as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
 
●      Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field required
●      One more more years of accounting experience, preferably in a school or nonprofit organization
●      General Ledger experience required
