Developed by a coalition of San Diego civic leaders and educators, High Tech High opened in September 2000 as a small public charter school with plans to serve approximately 450 students. HTH seeks an Administrative Aide, to assist the Food and Nutrition Services Team at High Tech High Mesa with administrative duties.
JOB SUMMARY
The Administrative Aide provides general clerical and administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of a school department. This role assists with documentation, communication, data entry, scheduling, and record keeping in support of the department’s daily functions and long-term goals. The Administrative Aide plays a critical role in maintaining organization, supporting staff, and helping the department meet its objectives efficiently and professionally.
Duties include:
● Perform general office duties including answering phones, filing, copying, scanning, and preparing correspondence.
• Assist with scheduling meetings, appointments, and maintaining calendars for departmental leadership.
• Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and other materials as requested.
• Enter and manage data in various systems used for student records, operations, or compliance tracking.
• Maintain organized records and filing systems, both digital and hard copy.
• Assist with tracking departmental purchases, supplies, and budget information as needed.
• Serve as a liaison between the department, staff, families, and external partners.
• Support coordination of department-related events, trainings, or workshops.
• Monitor and respond to department email or helpdesk inboxes.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with FERPA and other applicable privacy policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by department leadership.
Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent (required); associate’s degree or higher preferred.
• At least one year of experience in an administrative or office support role, preferably in a school or nonprofit setting.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and general office equipment.
• Ability to learn school-specific software platforms (e.g., SIS, HRIS, helpdesk systems).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Professionalism, discretion, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Bilingual (e.g., Spanish/English) preferred but not required.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
• Standard office environment located on a school campus.
• Frequent use of computers and office equipment.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
• May involve occasional evening or weekend hours depending on school events or deadlines.
