Salary: Hourly Framework (Step 2, A-K) Range: $18.65 to $22.73/hour
Developed by a coalition of San Diego civic leaders and educators, High Tech High opened in September 2000 as a small public charter school with plans to serve approximately 450 students. JOB SUMMARY
The Academic Coach is responsible for ensuring that students with diverse needs have access to our general education curriculum. Academic Coaches are essential to maintaining our low student-teacher ratio and ensuring all students get the individualized attention required for success. Academic Coach - Specialized offers 1:1 support for student(s) who needs additional support with activities of daily functions, including toileting.
Duties include:
● Assist with the instruction and supervision of student who may have learning differences
● Assist with tutorial activities working with an individual student
● Monitor student’s progress and provide input for evaluation and parent conference upon request
● May administer and evaluate testing of student for general placement
● May monitor classroom/instruct in temporary absence of teacher
● Establish rapport and a meaningful relationship with the referred student to assist in improving his/her behavior, educational performance, and social relationships
● Perform clerical support duties including typing, completing documents, forms, record, correspondence; which may include note taking for students
The ideal candidate would possess the following competencies:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
● Understanding of FBAs and BIPs
● 60 units of college courses completed
● 3-5 years of experience working with students ages 5-18 or
● 3-5 years of specialized experience working with students with behavior disorders; implementing BIPs and ABA strategies or
● 3-5 years of experience working with students with significant disabilities; toileting, tube feeding, supporting hygiene needs 1:1
SALARY & BENEFITS
This is an hourly position that can work variable hours up to 35 per week. This position does not qualify for benefits.
