Half of us suffer from chronic joint pain, and it’s the number one driver of employer medical costs.  Both drugs and surgery often do more harm than good.

Hinge Health is pioneering a more effective, more cost-effective modern treatment for chronic joint pain: Better-than-best practice care, delivered digitally, on your schedule.  We've helped over 20,000 working Americans in dozens of industries get their lives back. Our users report 4x the pain reduction as opioids, and avoid 2 out of 3 surgeries.

We're growing fast and looking for an experienced, mission-driven engineering manager to help us scale with ferocious grace.

As an Engineering Manager focused on Applications, you will support a nimble team of React Native and Ruby on Rails engineers building the world's most effective treatment for chronic pain.

Your team will rely on your active listening in 1:1s to coach through both day to day challenges and long term professional growth. Your ability to express clear expectations and be a kind, firm accountability partner will help your reports grow faster here than anywhere.

Your experience identifying workflow hotspots and resolving them with practical, lightweight, measurable process will be instrumental to helping Hinge Health engineering scale.

Finally, you will directly scale the team with active recruiting and fair, inclusive hiring. Moreover, you'll be distinguished by your ability to welcome developers from under-represented groups and counteract institutional bias in hiring.

Your team's daily stack is ReactNative, Typescript, Redux, GraphQL, and you'll have occasion to dabble in Rails, Python, Android, AWS, Aptible, Postgres, Redis. Although the role will primarily amplify the team's efforts with people and organization management,

Hinge Health is based in San Francisco with offices in Chicago, Minneapolis, Portland, and the UK.
