Bumble is looking for a well-connected, experienced, passionate, and growth-oriented Australia Country Lead to help scale Bumble’s brand as the leading relationships (romantic, friendship and business) and social networking app in Australia. The ideal individual will lead a robust go-to market strategy and work closely with our global team to bring our brand to life in Australia. 

The country lead is responsible for overseeing and developing a robust brand/marketing strategy and vision for Australia, reporting to the VP of Brand Marketing. The country lead will also be responsible for overseeing a small team in-market to ensure successful launch and ongoing in-market presence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Creating and executing on a 360-degree approach to marketing with Bumble’s core values of equality, kindness, respect, inclusivity, safety & empowerment at the center

    • Define and execute go-to market strategy to expand the Bumble brand in the region, including content strategy, distribution strategy, and budget allocation & management 
    • Manage relationships with press for Bumble
    • Plan & execute on events and activations across the region 
    • Develop strategic content to leverage digital / social media / in-app platforms effectively (organic, paid)
    • Maintain strong social media presence on multiple platforms and knowledge of latest social media marketing trends
    • Strategize on guerrilla marketing plan 
    • Identify and execute on brand partnerships to build brand ethos
    • National ambassadors / influencer engagement
    • Leverage past brand experiences (ideally having launched, localized or revitalized a brand with significant increase in consumer awareness) 
    • Excellent understanding of our existing and target users; craft and maintain marketing user personas

Setting strategic priorities leveraging data & analytics

    • Facilitate community research informing what users love / don’t love
    • Monitor key KPIs and work with the Global Marketing team to deliver against goal(s)
    • Leverage out-of-market learnings and adapt to market strategy; develop and share in-market learnings based on key successes and failures
    • Be analytical & data-driven in all decision making
    • Manage in-market budget & forecast growth potential

Effectively managing team on the ground

    • Lead, manage, and inspire a small team and create a culture of collaboration & learning
    • Set quarterly objectives / goals for local team members and agencies 
    • Problem solve and strategize with local team members and agencies to deliver against goals/ key KPIs
    • Support HQ in determining hiring requirements and roadmap for the region

Represent Bumble in-market

    • Create localized content in line with brand guidelines for social, press, influencer, digital marketing, etc
    • Maintain strong brand-related social media presence on multiple platforms (leveraging personal channels where appropriate)
    • Leverage existing set of connections in Australia to build strong relationships in market on behalf of Bumble & build new relationships with key influencers and partners in market(s)

Identify and secure strategic partnerships

    • Manage strategy, implementation, and optimization of strategic partnerships
    • Proactively identify & recruit on-brand partners
    • Evaluate inbound partnership opportunities
    • Maintain strong direct relationships with Bumble’s global key partners (where relevant)
    • Work closely with the global partnership teams
    • Drafting agreements and liaising with international teams to international teams to define commercial and contractual information for partnerships & events

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / ATTRIBUTES

    • 10+ years experience in marketing, public relations / communications, business administration or related fields with deep expertise around the Australia markets
    • Media expertise and press contacts – local, regional, national
    • Passion for the Bumble brand vision and values
    • Flexibility in adapting to shifting priorities and ability to work with quick deadlines
    • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with other Bumble markets
    • Creative problem-solving skills and a solutions-focused mindset
    • Experience using data and metrics to measure impact and pivot accordingly
    • Proactive approach and ability to take initiative, leveraging and learning from successes and challenges of other emerging Bumble markets
    • Strong communicator and relationship builder, with existing deep rolodex of valuable in-market contacts
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with excellent communication, presentation, management, and interpersonal skills
