Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
Summary
The Payroll/Human Resources Assistant supports the daily functions of the payroll and HR departments. This role is responsible for assisting with payroll processing, maintaining employee records, and assisting with HR administrative tasks. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and maintains confidentiality at all times.
Essential Functions
Payroll Duties:
1. Assist with the administrative tasks in preparation of semi-monthly payrolls.
2. Print and distribute payroll and off-payroll cycle checks as needed.
3. Audit employee deductions, bonuses, mileage and overtime.
4. Respond to payroll inquiries from employees and resolve discrepancies.
5. Maintain payroll records and documentation in compliance with company
policies and legal requirements.
Human Resources Support:
1. Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS system.
2. Conduct internal audits of employee records periodically.
3. Assist with preparation of HR documents such as employment contracts,
disciplinary reports, and performance reviews.
4. Ensure HR files and records are maintained in accordance with legal
requirements and company policies.
5. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business
2. Administration, or a related field preferred.
3. 2 years of experience in payroll or HR, or an approved combination of
education and work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
1. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
2. Knowledge of HRIS and Payroll systems - ADP Workforce Now is a plus.
3. Familiarity with labor laws and payroll regulations.
4. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
6. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Environmental Conditions:
Primarily an office environment. Long periods of sitting and computer use.
Time spent on the telephone and in meetings varies.
$20 - $20 an hour
