Horangi Legal is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel who is flexible, pragmatic, and solution driven. You will work in a fast-paced environment, demanding expertise and fluency in both technology and the law. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build a regional legal team ground-up, and advise Horangi’s senior leadership team on a range of exciting commercial issues. You will work cross-functionally and seamlessly on corporate strategy, investment deals, and new cybersecurity products and services across Asia Pacific and the US.

Build and grow a legal team in line with business priorities and needs.
Provide high quality legal advice, counsel and support to the organisation’s Revenue, Cyber Operations, and Corporate teams.
Review, draft and negotiate a wide range of agreements and legal documents.
Advise on cross-border transactions, M&A, employment, and new cybersecurity products from time to time. 
Manage an organisation-wide data protection management programme. 
Prepare, monitor and implement legal and compliance policies and business practices.
Manage external counsel and professional services providers in all relevant jurisdictions.
Mentor and supervise Legal Team members.

What we're looking for
Must have

LLB or JD from a recognised university, and qualified to practise Singapore law. 
5 - 7 years PQE gained at a technology-focused law firm and/or as in-house counsel with a reputable MNC or growth stage technology company.
Broad-based legal expertise, with demonstrated experience managing regulatory compliance, corporate governance, intellectual property, cybersecurity, and/or data protection issues specifically.
Practical understanding of information security standards and practices.
High level of analytical thinking, attention to detail and focus.
Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, establish priorities and solve problems.
Highly developed written and oral communication skills in English.
Strong sense of ethics and professional responsibility.

Good to have

Qualified to practise in the United States or other Southeast Asian jurisdictions relevant to the organisation.
Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organisation.
Operational experience working as a data protection officer. 
Experience negotiating complex strategic business development/partnership deals and managing partner relationships.
Experience working in/for a fast-growing start-up environment.
