Daniel Barcay is the Executive Director of the Center for Humane Technology. As ED,  Daniel oversees the organization's mission, vision, strategic plans, fundraising, impact, board relations, and manages internal stakeholders across Content, Policy, and Operations. 

CHT is looking for a seasoned full-time Executive Assistant  to amplify Daniel’s work across the organization. If you’re organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about making the world a better place, we’d love to meet you.

Key Responsibilities

    • Project management: help Daniel steer the ship and stay on top of all priorities across multiple projects
    • Inbox management: prioritize and triage Daniel’s inbox, write emails and draft documents from dictated voice memos, stay on top of correspondence
    • CRM and record management: capture relationships, meeting notes, expenses, and updates
    • Meeting management: create briefs, set agendas, take notes, and capture next steps
    • Calendar management and scheduling
    • Board meeting preparation 
    • Travel arrangements
    • Special projects as assigned


    • 5+ years of prior experience as an Executive Assistant managing c-level executives, especially in a fast-moving startup environment
    • An authentic, friendly, concise email writing voice with executive presence
    • Organized, detail-oriented, proficient in project management, passionate about managing many moving pieces in a rapidly changing environment
    • Fluent in open communication, empathy, and emotional intelligence
    • Ask great questions, show curiosity, and have an eagerness to learn quickly
    • A proactive problem solver who can take initiative and implement solutions for improvement
    • Comfortable working with software systems: setting up and updating CRMs, collaborating on Google Drive, Notion, Dropbox, Hubspot, Slack, and Signal
    • Be available and responsive during Pacific Coast working hours (within 15 minutes for text, within 2 hours for email), with flexibility during certain sprint times to respond to high-priority messages during weekends

Reporting and Collaboration

    • This role will report to CHT’s Executive Director, Daniel Barcay.
$80,000 - $110,000 a year
Employment Details

Terms: Full-time permanent role with 90 day trial period.
Compensation and Benefits:  $80,000 - $110,000 annual salary (depending on experience level.)
Generous paid time off.

Location: Remote work is possible on Pacific Time working hours.
