About CHT’s Operations Director Role

The Operations Director is a strategic leader responsible for managing and coordinating all operational functions across CHT. This role oversees Finance, Human Resources, Legal, and Internal Operations. We’re looking for someone who has extensive non-profit management experience, proven leadership experience managing fast-moving teams, and who is strategic, responsible, proactive, and energized by both building and fixing. 

The Operations Director reports to the Executive Director and manages the Operations Manager. Responsibilities

Strategy and Goal Setting
- Provide strategic input aligned with organizational objectives.
- Lead key operational projects and OKR development.
- Analyze data to drive continuous improvement.

Financial Management
- Steward organization's finances efficiently and compliantly.
- Manage budgeting, cash flow, and financial reporting, in partnership with our accounting firm.
- Provide financial insights to optimize fundraising efforts.
-Coordinate audits, tax filings, and compliance with financial regulations.
- Provide financial insights to optimize fundraising efforts.

Legal and Governance Management
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Manage contracts, agreements, and legal documentation.
- Support the Board of Directors in governance matters and risk management.

Recruiting, Hiring, & Human Resources
- Oversee all HR functions.
- Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations for our remote team.
- Manage full-cycle recruiting process for all new hires including scoping roles.
- Foster positive organizational culture and morale.
- Support in-person team meetings and scheduling.

Operations Management
- Streamline organizational processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain clear, well-documented operational policies and procedures.


Skills & Experience

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in a senior leadership role overseeing operations in a non-profit organization, corporate environment, or similar setting with at least 3 years of non-profit operations leadership. 

Leadership and Management 
- Strategic leader with high integrity who can inspire and motivate teams to achieve our goals. 
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and influence at all levels.
- Organized and capable of managing and directing multiple projects and competing priorities effectively.
- Proven track record of strategic planning, project management, and operational excellence.

Financial Management
- Highly experienced in managing budgets, monitoring financial performance, and implementing financial controls.
- Enjoys working in Excel/GoogleSheets financial modeling. 

Human Resources and Legal
- Experience overseeing HR practices, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations, especially as it relates to a fully distributed team. 
- Understanding of basic 501c3 non-profit regulatory requirements and experience in ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS

    • Terms: Full-time permanent employee
    • Compensation: $160K - $180K annual salary, generous PTO, medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401K with 4% matching
    • Location: Remote
    • You must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Please note that we are unable to sponsor any prospective employees for visas. 
$160,000 - $180,000 a year
The salary range for this role is $160,000 to $180,000 depending on experience.
