Role Overview: 
As Technology Director your core focus will be to build and manage staff and freelance technology teams at HUSH. You’ll be part of our leadership team, reporting directly to ownership and collaborating with your leadership peers. You love to mentor and grow talent and will have goals-driven metrics for personal and company success. You’ll manage technology efforts that include an array of talented developers, designers, frameworks, and languages. You'll have a major influence on strategy, visual, technical, architectural, and sonic design. You will help the team create plain-English client briefs, and you’ll be an articulate voice during internal and external presentations.

Focus: 70% direction/management/team-building, 30% making/execution

Key Responsibilities
•Build and manage staff and freelance technology teams.
•Provide a strong technology point of view and bring clarity to the design process.
•Participate in presenting concepts to clients and articulately express the creative technology vision for project.
•Estimate, plan, and consult with the leadership and sales teams on production strategy.
•Help generate technical scopes, specs, documentation, assumptions, and estimates.
•Help evaluate, coordinate and collaborate with a multitude of vendors.
•Travel as needed for site scouts, presentation, installations, deliveries, etc.
•Team Leadership:Guide teams in initial design phases, through final delivery.
•Share knowledge, mentor and educate internal team.
•Conduct regular staff reviews with goals-oriented success metrics.
•Constant review of freelance and full-time talent to support and grow team.
•Contribute to the standardization and refinement of best practices & templates.
•Ensure team’s daily work status is updated for internal review.

Client Facing:
•Work in concert with leadership to understand creative and strategic needs, and help adapt to changes as they happen.
•Provide a proactive and articulate voice during client discussions.
•Develop relationships with our client’s technical leadership to grow opportunities. 
•Support hand-off and training for a client’s technical teams with documentation and concise requirements.
•Concept, Design & Engineering:Work with the creative team on presentations and collectively iterate to fruition.
•Provide a strong point of view on technology approaches, including references, research, and proof-of-concept prototyping.
•Execute high-level development and technology plans for projects. Lead R&D for existing and emerging technologies.

Evaluation: Semi-annual meetings to review progress across core responsibilities, professional and personal goals.

Requirements:
•10+ years of creative technology experience w/ fast-paced design agencies & clientsStrong management, team building, and mentoring experience
•Strong communication, organizational, leadership and time-management skills
•Fluency working with creative frameworks such as Cinder, Processing, Touch Designer, C++, C#, Graphics Programming (GL, HLSL, GPGPU), etc.
•Fluency with modern digital development tools: iOS, Android, node.js, three.js, etc.
•Experience working with embedded systems, sensors, and physical computing
