Role Overview: 
The Technical Producer is responsible for quality, timely, and on-budget delivery of projects that combine software development, hardware, fabrication, installation, and web components. This role focuses on software development projects in close collaboration with the Technical Director and in support of the lead project Producer. They work with Technical and Creative leadership in early stages of concept development to identify a project roadmap. They align expectations with the client effectively, and keep software scopes realistic. They build team camaraderie, helping team members feel valued.

The ideal candidate has deep experience in agile principles, scrum methodology, and risk management which allows for strong team management and communication skills. They have experience unblocking teams. While the ideal candidate for this role does not need software engineering experience, they do need to understand the complexity of what’s being developed to effectively assist with research, project planning, scoping, ticketing system management, post launch technical training, and supporting documentation and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities   
Team Leadership / Communication:  
Develop clear scope with clients and shape the team with lead Producer in the initial phases of a project.  
Lead task management and software development execution with the engineering team.  
Develop a strong relationship across creative, technology, and production practices with the ultimate goal of keeping projects on time and budget.  Lead client communications regarding software feature sets, content integration, timeline, delivery, and changes in scope.  
Proactive and nimble timeline maintenance, factoring in contingencies based on a myriad of variables and parallel processes.  

Financial Management:  
Support lead Producers in managing project budgets and delivering on budget.  

Documentation:  
Responsible for developing software production project plans.  
Responsible for working closely with Technical Leads and engineers to develop and deliver post-deployment documentation.  

Talent / Team Building:  
Coordinate with Creative Director and Technical Director to define engineering project teams based on deliverables, budget, and schedule.  
Authorize and initiate talent & team bookings with the resource manager.   
Able to give clear direction to the teams while reporting comprehensive status updates to senior leadership.  

Project / Time Management:  
Build consensus on technical decisions to satisfy requirements.  
Break down large and complex projects into meaningful subprojects with clear, concise and manageable deliverables.  
Proactively manage risks and dependencies, ensuring that they are identified, managed, mitigated or escalated as needed.  

Requirements:
5+ years leading product production, enterprise level engineering projects, or real-life experiences in a Creative/Design/Agency setting.  
Track record of proactively unblocking, managing or escalating issues via day-to-day project statuses both internally and to the client.  
Strong experience in Scrum methodology (not necessary to be certified)
Agile methodology process management expertise is useful.  
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, as well as organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills.  
MS Office, Mac OS, Google Docs, Ticketing System Software, Budgeting Software.
Effective communicator, curiosity, exhibits grace under pressure.  
Demonstrated success in leading teams.
