HBX is looking for a Planning Manager to oversee delivering budgeted sales and profit targets, through effective trading, stock management, re-ordering and markdowns for our global ecommerce and retail business. Within this role, you will think with a global mindset; strategically identifying opportunities to exploit markets with high profit returns to positively impact the inventory and COGS position.
Responsibilities:
- Plan seasonal Open-To-Buy in partnership with Buying Manager; driving improvement in the buying and merchandising cycle including sales, sell through and capacity analysis, and inventory turn for all categories.
- Devise long and short-term merchandising plans based on past sales figures and trends.
- Provide sophisticated analysis and reporting on a daily, weekly, monthly and ad hoc basis on sales and stock position for HBX. Elevate existing reporting and processes, and introduce new ways to improve effectiveness and efficiencies with cross-departmental leads.
- Make recommendations on pricing and promotional events cadence to maximize sales potential and profit margins. Drive pricing strategy and monitor effectiveness in-season.
- Partner with Buying counterparts to ensure alignment on strategic initiatives and development opportunities. Monitor performance and signal recommendations for re-orders.
- Develop effective forecast models and demand assumptions to ensure that financial objectives align with product opportunities, utilize historical data and current trends to capitalise on new opportunities and identify risks.
- Work side by side with Buying team for the most up-to-date market information and customer behaviours.
- Perform strategic merchandising plan through various market research, analysis and forecasting to achieve company’s business objective and customers’ expectations.
- Analyse sales figures, customers’ reactions and market trends to anticipate product needs and plan product ranges and stock.
- Proactive in price negotiation and sourcing of vendors to meet requirements, conduct cost analysis.
- Monitor vendor performance in terms of price, quality and delivery as well as responsiveness.
- Partner with Finance to project intake relative to payment schedules.
- Continually improving forecast and inventory accuracy with Supply Chain, Finance, and Buying teams.
Requirements:
- Degree in Merchandising, Design, Textile, Fashion or related disciplines preferred.
- Min 6 years of experience in buying/merchandising; experienced in P&L management is highly preferred.
- Knowledge in e-commerce is an advantage; multi-brand retail a plus.
- Good communication, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English.
- Good command of retail math concepts, applications and statistical analysis – OTB, inventory management concept.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and ability to adapt to new systems
- Solid PowerBI and/or Tableau experience or equivalent BI tools
- Highly collaborative and partners well with a variety of cross-functional and cross-regional teams.
